I had a great experience with Dr.Baranano . He clearly took my diagnosis and care seriously . Unlike some doctors that give the impression they are on the way to leaving the consultation before it even started, he patiently answered all of my questions . The additional four office staff that I encountered were similarly excellent .

Please do not use this doctor. He has such rude bedside manner and truly does not care in any way about anyone except his high ego!

My husband had a detaching retina and we went right to the GBMC Eye Clinic. I've had personal experience with them before. The doctor that saw him, said his retina was detaching and sent him right up for a surgical consultation with Dr. Brananano. He was magnificent. He fit us right into his schedule. Was very caring and knowledgable. Because so much blood had accumulated in my husband's eye, he wasn't 100% confident that he would be able to use the laser procedure. But, he had him recline and rest his eyes for 30 minutes. And, was able to successfully repair the tear in his retina. We were home, from beginning to end, in just a few hours!

Dr baranano is a God sent angel. He is a caring, honest, genuine, amazing doctor. Even though the terrible news of a detached retnia was the news
he was delivering, he had confidence that was very reassuring. He, and his staff treat me like family, and I feel very loved and we'll cared for in his very experienced, gentle hands. He is a man of his word, and will do right by any of his patiences. I highly recommend and trust him fully with my health. His care was exception and his humility is beyond reproach.

Dr. Baranano saved the vision in my right eye after the retina detached. Several Drs in the Allentown, Pa area failed at saving any vision in my left eye and there was nothing but light in my right eye when Dr. Baranano agreed to perform a vitrectomy, retinal reattach meant, cataract removal, and oil added. Dr. B came in the next day which was a Saturday to remove the bandage himself, and uncovered an eye that distortedly could see more than when we started. After 4 months of weekly follow ups and glasses at the age of 31 I could finally see the beautiful face of my then 10 year old son. Even though each follow up takes a 4 hour drive each way, we wouldn't trust my eye to anyone else!! Dr. Baranano's skill is a a Blessing from God and a gift my family will always be thankful for!!!!!!

I was very skeptical when Dr Baranano told me over and over and over again how experienced he is. My son looked it up and he only finished his retina fellowship training in Georgia in 2010. At my age 3 years is hardly experienced. Don't let the hairline fool you. If I want a junior partner I'll go to a teaching hospital. Before I let anyone do injections in my eyes I need to trust him/her. I don't think he's a bad guy but Dr Baranano is clearly insecure about his experience and training. Why else was he constantly giving me his resume? He talked more about himself than he seemed to want to know about me, the patient. As I said, he's just very insecure and likely in over his head at his age but only 3 years out of fellowship. I won't be going back. I want a doctor who is genuinely confident and truly experienced.

Nothing but a top notch doctor supported by outstanding staff at GBMC in Towson. I had significant diabetic retinopathy. Dr Baranano was very clear in his diagnosis and the challenges of my condition. He is a busy specialist with a resultant high case load. Is he really warm and fuzzy -yes. Is he professional, knowledgeable and caring - most definitely. I am thankful that the first specialist referred me to him. I am very thankful for Dr, Baranano's expertise and attention. Not sure where other raters are coming from. He is a specialist that works from referrals He is a teaching doctor, and I had no problem with having a medical student sit in. How else are they to learn? .....and Dr Baranano is an expert who I have nothing but high esteem for.

Dr. Baranano has been treating me for macular degeneration with eyeball injections over the past year. Since opening his new practice, his care has become more personalized. He is extremely knowledgable and patient with me. He answers all of my questions and explains what and why he's doing the procedure to me clearly. His professional staff is excellent and very friendly. The organization of the practice has steadily improved with little wait time now. I would highly recommend Dr Baranaro.
