What a quack. This hateful woman had ties to attorneys working in Monmouth County Courthouse and wrote dangerous custody evaluations that harmed the relationships between children and their parents.

Had to go to her along with my now husband for a psyche evaluation. The most unprofessional individual I have ever met. When she was evaluating the report on my husband she wanted him to physically get on the floor to show her how he interacted with his daughter. At the time his back was out and she had full knowledge of this. As she was preparing the report on my husband she contacted him and asked him if he had this huge confrontation with his brother that ended up with him in the hospital. This was so outrageous her comment was “I must have your comments mixed up with someone else’s”. This was for a custody agreement and the judge was waiting for her report, she was very late but was paid up front on time and the check was cashed. She then wanted another payment because she had to review her notes at a later time for she did complete the report on time. And no she did not receive another payment. We ended up going to another individual and spending more money. I am happy to say the judge rendered a fair decision and the custody order was shared. The child is now happily married and we just celebrated our 25th anniversary, I hope no one has to experience what we went thru. The report she wrote was so ridiculous and resembled nothing accurate about my husband IMHO. To have spent so much money and time and have someone not do their job appropriately in this type of situation to me was so upsetting and still is, That money could have been spent toward the education of the child or other assets for them. What a waste IMHO, I am so grateful for the judge doing what was best for the child and not the parents. The child was able to enjoy so much more out of life. I hope this doctor reads this and realizes what she writes in her reports can make a difference in someone’s life and it is her professional duty to provide the correct information imho.

Dr. Altenhaus helped me a great deal with my nervousness in certain types of situations. She knows how to listen and got me to see where the problem comes from and how to overcome it. Very effective counselor.

Dr. Altenhaus was hired to help with my evaluation and my custody case, I found her nothing but professional, knowledgeable and incredibly experienced. Seems to me the previous review might’ve been written by somebody who’s case did not go the way they had wanted and is looking for a scapegoat. Dr. Altenhaus is great to work with and she really knows her stuff. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anybody. Hopefully I’ll never need another custom evaluation, if I ever did, she will be the first person I would go to.
