After reading all of Dr.Renfro's reviews I was appalled at the review by the person whose involvement with him was due to a court order. People who are ordered by the court to see someone have anger issues in the first place and their opinions should be weighted against that. My experience with Dr.Renfro was more than positive. After a painful divorce and deep depression Dr.Renfro brought me back from possible suicide. He is compassionate but professional.

Dr. Renfro has helped my family for many years. Without him I would not be where I am today. He saved my mother's life and that saved mine. He is kind and intelligent and spends time outside of work continuing to help his patients. If you are looking for a psychologist, he is a great one. He is also able to refer patients to other psychologists that might fit their needs as well. This is just another example of his humble nature. He found a psychologist in a neighboring city for one of my friends that fit her needs specifically, and it turned out to be a wonderful match.

People also have their own issues, so some negatives I would account to that. Probably not the most professional person I saw all those years ago, but amongst the many, including MDs and other/neighboring phd/psyds that I spent time with.. Renfro is the only one I'd care to speak with again. All cared, all wanted my documents for their own files/accomplishment/research.pushes........ but he seemed to actually give a damn. Not to just me, he contacted others around me to ensure some things on my behalf based on words I spoke.. but actions I couldn't necessarily take. Something no one else came close to doing, or caring enough to do. Kinda doubt he's still practicing, but if so, he's a good one to see.

He was extremely unprofessional. He has tried to destroy my husbands relationship with his son. I don't know how he gets up in the morning.

During the one conversation I had with Dr. Renfro he was extremely rude and condescending. It's doctors like him that make people like me not even want to get the help I need!

After 15 months of Dr. Guy Renfro as our parental coordinator, I had to petition the court in June 2010 to have him removed. I had sent him over 8 letters pleading with him to begin the counseling process that was critical due to a high conflict post marital divorce. He was also supposed to file a visitation schedule with the court which he never did. Then, in late 2009 I learned Dr. Guy Renfro was “locked out” from his firm Kirkland, King and Renfro PC. His partners cancelled his appointments, changed the locks on the doors and Dr. Renfro was told not to return. Without a parenting time schedule and due to Dr. Guy Renfro’s negligence as the parenting coordinator, I have been unable to see my children. I have had one counseling session with one of my two children in 4 1/2 years. Even my ex wife agreed to an alternate counselor in the fall of 2010.
