I was referred to Tarantino by my urogynecologist. I had cystocele and possible rectocele and enterocele to be diagnosed by her. I had just had a hysterectomy and bilateral oopherectomy. I had history of constipation and we thought those surgeries might help because I had fibroids possibly causing blockage.
She said one has nothing to do with the other and stopped me from telling anymore about my medical history and asked how long I go without having a BM. I have gone 7 to 8 days without. She said that that's nothing and she has patients who don't have BMs for a month or more

She asked if I ever tried splinting and I had but I get severe nerve pains in thumb and wrist when I bend wrist that way due to prior carpal tunnel surgeries, (plus it's just gross to have to stick fingers in my vag and press on things in order to poop, but I didn't say that.)
She laughed at that as if I was making it up about my wrist. I asked what she did for patients who don't go for a month at a time and she said it doesn't matter, everyone is different. I told her it's incredibly painful and uncomfortable to not go for a week and is there anything she could help me with. She said she has to examine me and had me put gown on.
She took me into a room that looked like a room for dancing. Literally. It was long and empty and had a wall length mirror across entire room.
She told me to bend over and push/do Valsalva. I did and she said you have perineal descent. I asked what that was and she said it looks like a baboon there. Yes. She said my perineal area looks like a baboon. She didn't offer any other info based on that, ie, I probably have rectocele and cystocele that are causing some blockage. She ordered some dynamic tests and motility tests. I also asked her how often she goes and she said every day.
I had just been through menopause overnight due to surgery (and that doc was old fashioned and refused to rx estrogen) at a very vibrant age of 46 and by then I felt I was 75 and falling apart.

And then I went to her office and she diminished my issue, offered no solutions, laughed at me, and demeaned me and said i look like a baboon down there. I put my clothes on left that so called doctor's office as quickly as I could.

Terrible bedside manner and extremely unprofessional. Should not have a medical license.

I have a hartmanns policy colostomy done in 2010, but not by Tarantino. I yavw been to her before and she had attitude. But this time, for awhile I am having a lot of rectal stump and bowel/pelvic pains. I went back to her yesterday and she tried to do a scope, but itmhirt, so she stopped. She have me no opportunity to give my worsening symptoms. BUT what she DID DO...was to practically yell "YOU ARE WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THE MEDICAL PROFESSION!!!!! YOU DO NOT NEED TO COME HERE AGAIN!!!!!! I AM A SURGEON!!!!!". THEN SHE SLAMMED MY MEDICAL RECORDS FILE ON THE EXAM TABLE AND WALKED OUT. BEFORE SHE CAME IN EXAM ROOM, SJE WAS SNICKERING WITH HER ASSISTANT. MOST LIKELY ABOUT ME. I FEEL LIKE I M BEING TREATED BADLY BECAUSE I AM AN OLDER, LOW INCOME PERSON ON MEDICAID. I called my insurance company about this. I would NOT recommend her if you had surgery dome elsewhere. POOR BEDSIDE MANNER.

I saw Dr. Tarantino about a year after a gastroenterology doctor did a colonoscopy, and wrote me a form letter that I may have "pre-cancerous polyps". I was upset with the gastroenterology doctor that he did not call and tell me about this and that I had to find out in a form letter saying that I should have a followup colonoscopy (with him doing the procedure), two years after the last as opposed to the normal 5 year interval.

Dr. Tarantino got a copy of my test and colonoscopy results an assured me that I did not have any "pre-cancerous polyps", and that I was healthy. The examination was quite through and I was also examined me for Benign Enlarged Prostatitis. While the digital examination is a bit invasive, she acted very professional and preserved my male ego and dignity.

I would recommend her highly!
