Went to see him multiple times after substaining a clavicle and SC joint injury, I feel as though he didn't really listen to me and sent me to pain management for the 2nd time after previously being denied and told I need an operation by multiple Drs. He then told me he would speak to a surgeon in Chicago which I now am led to believe he never actually did. I've been waiting over a month for him to get back to me (I've called everyday and get sent to a automated message) about what my next route of action should be (knowing I need an operation). A few days ago I took it upon myself to look for the surgeon in Chicagos number and set up my own appointment. I do not recommend this Dr to anyone and feel as though he's committed malpractice. It's now been a year since I got injured and still waiting around to find someone to operate on me. I have a lot more I can say about this Dr but it's really not worth my breath, I just hope no one else goes to him and ends up in the same situation as me. I feel unheard and all he did to control my pain was give me lidocaine patches which do nothing for me and I've explained that to him.

I have had a completely torn ligament for a very long period of time that Dr. Baratz refused to investigate with MRI or treat w/surgery; I’ve been in a brace. Had surgery from new dr who said ligament was completely torn from bone. Dr. Baratz could not have cared less about my pain or healing.

Great physician, he fixed my sons arm, 6 yr old, from when another physician set it wrong. He put pins and screws in and now he has full motion back. Great guy with awesome bedside manner for kids. Highly recommended!!!

In the last 10 years when ever I needed an Orthopedic surgeon I've seen Dr. Baratz.8 years ago he scoped my left shoulder for an impingement problem and it's been fine ever since. Just this May 2011 he operated on a knuckle on my right hand for artheritis and it helped greatly. This year he was named as one of the top 200 surgeons in Pittsburgh, Pa. I have complete faith and confidence in him . Frank D.

I was there to consider surgery for carpal tunnel. He took time to explain the degree to which his surgical procedure may help. He explained all the downsides to having surgery and did not pressure me. I went there with an EMG result in hand.

I complained to him that I had pain in my shoulder blade, below my collarbone (but above my breast), my wrist and tingling in my fingers and a weak grip. He repeated insistently, "WHAT HURTS WORSE?" until I felt like I had to point at one location. He gave me a lidocaine/ketone shot. That night, my skin bubbled and itched. His nurse said I had a rare allergic reaction. It left me with a scar and an indentation in the area of the shot. A year later, his colleague called a medical student into the room to show him "This is what happens when you don't put a shot in deep enough. It ate the fat away from under her skin." I am just now seeking treatment for the problem, which was not resolved, because I was afraid of being treated so callously and lied to again!
