I personally believe in drug free child birth but she made me feel like I was a conservative idiot from 1850s. She seemed to be on the side of the drug companies and corporations whereas she should be working for me. I understand I am in the minority but I expected her to respect that and work with me. Anyway, my wife seems to be a big fan of her because her friends have had a good experience. I do respect her knowledge of delivering babies but she should also respect other points of views. Especially because childbirth is such a special moment for the parents she should cater to our needs. I want a doctor who is considerate of the fact that we would like to go drugfree. Sorry, I was disappointed. If I was my wife I would have switched doctors. Any idea what her C-Section rate is? What is her epistomy rate? etc. Any stats, please let me know.

Staff very unprofessional. Dr. Rao unapproachable and unwilling to explain or elaborate. Doesn't discuss options or alternative techniques. Bed-side manner totally lacking.

She's awesome. I know people this she is unapprochable. But if u ask her questions, she will patiently answer. There is something wrong with her eyes, so u may think she is glaring at you, but she is very pleasant. The child she first delivered is now almost 31 years old. Great experience, extensive knowlege. She wont molly-coddle you. She will ask yiu to swim and dance and work and exercise when you have a normal pregnancy. If you have any personal problems, she will help you with that also. My cousin went for 2 pregnancies, I had my baby and two of friends also goto her. The receptionist may seem rude, but she is also pretty ok. I called dr.rao couple of times in the middle of the night. The answering service was very good. The only problem is u may have to wait fr about 1/2 to 1hr for the appointment and the visit may seem rushed. But she was through. Did not make me panic and when i actually had an emergency, she contacted the High risk doctor immediately.

Called office saying that I suspect I am pregnant, given a month wait for appt. Go in.. sat for 2 hours before being seen. Told doctor again I may be pregnant.. never gave me a pregnancy test. Felt my abdomen, said "i feel a mass" and scheduled me for an ultrasound and then left the room. Never told me what it could be..a baby? a tumor? Found out at ultrasound that I am pregnant. The receptionist was also the nurse taking the vitals, she seemed rushed. Switching to another doctor as soon as possible.

We switched to Dr. Rao from another doctor during second trimester. Her Somerset office is relatively modern and spacious than New Brunswick. Friendly front desk. Usually sees patients on time. She is experienced and knowledgeable, and friendly mostly. Listens to our questions and concerns. Our baby was a C-section. Though she was late to the hospital, she did the procedure very nicely and quickly. Post-op followup was good. On the flip side, she is older and her approach might appear conservative to some. There were some occasional delays in returning calls.

Dr. Rao was curt and had a cold attitude when you saw her. I was pregnant for the first time and she provided no guidance or helpful information. When I started bleeding one day, she did not return my calls, even after I called 3 times. I ended up in the ER and she never even called me after that. I switched to another ob/gyn immediately after and am now receiving the care I need during my pregnancy. Additionally, there were many pre-natal tests that Dr. Rao never ordered that should have been done early on in pregnancy and wasn't done on me until I switched doctors. Dr. Rao's office is also very messy and does not have the latest medical devices. Do not use this doctor!
