As I accompanied my 28 year old daughter to her appointments with Dr. McCourt, I had to put aside my experience as a CCU nurse and just be the mother. Dr. McCourt brought me in after each exam & re-discussed the issues she had already talked over with my daughter; she explained them thoroughly and responded to the solicited questions & concerns from BOTH of us. My daughter (the patient) really likes Dr. McCourt - which makes me, as a mother, also like her, but more important - as a CCU nurse, I appreciate her knowledge and directness, her attention to details and her ability to listen.
