Wife was a patient of the Dr. He had her receive a blood test and would call her in four days. Now over one month three calls and two visits and no response.

Very personable doctor. I went to see him about a glass shard in my foot and to see about some orthotics. Dr Hjelmstad scraped the spot where I assumed the glass was with the flat part of a scapel and said he thought he got it. My insurance was billed $435.00 for outpatient foot surgery and I was left with the same glass shard in my foot. I received a prescription to be seen elsewhere for the orthotics. Nice clean office but office staff could use improvement.

This was my first visit but I was made to feel very welcome. The staff was extremely accommodating to my special physical needs. The doctor was very knowledgable and explained my condition so that I could understand. Answered all my questions without making me feel rushed. The office was immaculate. Easy to find. Highly recommend!

my only complaint is that there is no after hours way to get a hold of him for complications. I had minor complications with foot surgery and had to wait until Monday am to talk with his staff.

Dr. Hjelmstad quickly identified what we thought was a foot injury as something entire more dangerous. We spent four days under his close care. He has admitting privileges at a local hospital which is an unexpected plus when you're faced with a health emergency. Throughout the process of working with Dr. Hjelmstad and the infectious disease doctor at the hospital he was a picture of grace and compassion and professionalism. Our post operative care has also been spectacular.

Dr. Hjelmstad and his nurse were so great. Both are very friendly, knowledgeable, nd best of all easy to understand. This was my first visit to a podiatrist so I was a little nervous, but they made me feel at ease from the moment I walked in. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I really loved been that he listened to me and didn't make me feel like an idot. He didn't talk over me, and explained things in terms that were very clear to understand. I would highly recommend him to any patient any age.
