If your loved one ever becomes a patient at The Pines Nursing Home in Poughkeepsie,NY or anywhere else this man practices, DO NOT let this doctor take over their care. My grandmother had a wonderful doctor for many years who had her on a medication regimen that kept her stable and healthy. Upon arriving at the facility, Dr. Akhter took over her care and took her off of all of her medication.....things she had been on for many years. This is what he did to my grandmother and she died within a week and a half. It is the craziest thing I have ever heard of and something I had to watch happen before my eyes. My gut told me it was insane....always follow your gut !!!!! BEWARE !!!!!
