Dr. Hiser did a L5S1 spinal fusion Nov 2013. Dr. Hiser before surgery was polite and seemed to know what he was doing but when I woke up unable to walk & in severe pain his demenor changed. He refused to change pain medications being given, he refused to listen to my concerns, telling me there was nothing wrong with me. 7 days laters I ended up back in the hospital, Dr. Hiser 6 hrs later told me that nothing was wrong with me (without running any test) and discharged me. 4 hours when my left leg was now blueish in color I went to another hospital only to be told that my bone grafts had been missplaced that pinched off a major artery to that leg and that I had a massive blood clot the length of my left leg that required surgery to remove, I almost lost my left leg!! several days later I ended up with a blood clot in my right lung and almost died. I have had 9 surgeries now to fix what he screwed up. needless to say I fired him as my neurosurgeon and a lawsuit is pending!!!

Dr. Hiser has a horrible bedside manor and dismissed my post-op issues as "in your imagination...maybe you have a screw loose" Would not see me past three month post-op appt. because he said "there was nothing wrong with you, I fixed the issue you were having and the issues you are having now don't have anything to do with the back surgery" Prior to surgery I had back pain in the L5-S1, post-surgery I have been numb from the waste down and right down the middle on the right side. I have pain and numbness in my back thigh, my right foot is numb, my right testical and buttocks cheek are numb.
