My father was advised to go to the ER by his PCP who called ahead expecting him to be admitted. This “Physician” certainly defines the adage of “practicing” medicine. He advised my Dad that he treated him for the issues he presented and he could go home and admission wasn’t necessary. Family insisted on admit and the provider was extremely rude and confrontational. End result, my Dad ended up admitted for a 6 day stay…..seems to me that was certainly necessary! If this is the person treating you, ask for someone else and if possible leave. If not, demand you are treated like a person not a number and you get the care you need.
