I found Dr. Ferrara to be unpleasant and condescending. While talking with his hands he repeatedly got way too close to my breasts. After admitting my glasses were defective (growing cracks all along the frames) he refused to refund my money. I told him I was wearing glasses that had broken glass in them. He was unconcerned. To me this is inexcusable behavior for a doctor.

Absolutely wonderful experience! My yearly appointment was at the end of May 2021 and it couldn't have been more efficient. My appointment was at 11:00 and I was able to walk right in no wait!! Throughout the appointment everyone continued to set expectations on what to expect next. Dr. Ferrara's assistant is the best! He is extremely friendly and made the appointment even better! I love that Dr. Ferrara never rushes the appointment. he makes sure you have the right prescription and are comfortable in your contacts. I have been going to him for the past 5 years and I wouldn't change. I live in Chesapeake and there are plenty of options out here but I will continue to only go to Dr. Ferrara.

I've followed Dr. Ferrara to several practices over the last 25 years and he has always been incredible. Very professional and knowledgeable. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of me and my family the way he does. I will continue to visit Dr. Ferrara and all the professionals at Joyful Eyecare.

We have been seeing Dr. Ferrara for many years. He is so caring and compassionate. His exams are always thorough, always spending as much time as necessary to make sure he understands your concerns and you leave with the correct prescription.
His staff is extremely professional and polite.

I have been going to Dr. Ferrara since my childhood. He and the staff at the office are always so friendly and personable and they always make sure I have everything I need. Dr. Ferrara always remembers a little detail about my life when I come in and it really shows that he cares and goes the extra mile to connect with patients. Dr. Ferrara and the staff also do a great job of educating me about my eye health and I learn something new every time. Thank you for providing great care over the years!

Dr. Ferrara is the best. He’s super engaging and great with kids. He obviously loves what he does and takes great care of us. His staff is very friendly as well and he takes the time to answer any questions we have. We’ll be coming back as long as we can.

I’ve been to Dr Borza for over 20 years oriole to coming to this Dr. Ferrara. He saw me a year and a half ago after my Lasik correction 8 years prior. He sent me home with prescription that we’re still very blurry and the contact not sitting well on my eye Because of the new curvature of the eye. After several back and forth, working with giving back trails and trying to new trials..I gave up.
Now today, about two years since above, this man walks in with my husband and I and begins the exam, often dropping saying “everything” can’t be the “same.” But my vision is a fluctuation problem. Because even went he fought he had the right prescription, it changed in him again. Not only was the man frustrated at me, but once I asked to know what my previous astigmatism had been, he became agitated and would not tell me that. I silently looked over at my husband and this grown man, a medical professional , at that, began crying and saying he couldn’t help me and that he would refund any monies owed. We were fine leaving knowing he was rendering himself incapable of delivering proper customer service. As he walked out of our room crying..he immediately walked into the room diagonal with a big smile and a vocal

Dr. Ferrara is a very professional and knowledgable doctor. My visit there was very pleasant and the staff made me feel like an old friend. Can't say enough good things about this Dr.

Dr. Ferrara is an outstanding doctor who takes the time to get to know his patients. He explains the procedures to ensure that patients understand what is happening. Further, he has always been extremely respectful and complimentary to his staff. Disregard the two negative comments that are on this site. Clearly, those individuals (which is likely the same person) have "issues" unrelated to Dr. Daniel C. Ferrara.

Poor people skills, makes you wait 20-30mins in exam room. Had to go back for issues and was told to suck it up, yes he actually said that three times to me. Was very unhelpful and unprofessional. Stay away!
