I was forced to wear a mask and I explained to them that if I did I would have a severe panic attack. It was if they didn't believe me and they even kind of snickered at me. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a doctor. The woman at the desk has zero compassion and understanding to laugh at a client and the lady with the long hair and the glasses same thing. Total lack of empathy and compassion for me and my issues. Then I went outside because I did not want to wear a mask. The nurse came to the door and called me I came forward and she shoved a box of masks in front of my face. I tried to explain to her she turned around and just walked and put me in the room there was no conversation no eye contact. I told her. After for sitting for a while and moving around constantly I in a lot of pain and I needed to lay down I stood next to the bed and ask her again if she could open the bed please. It was as if I was bothering her to do it . She hardly even did anything for me zero compassion with her as well. McKenzie came in, I was sobbing uncontrollably, having the beginnings, of the panic attack and she looked at me and she said what are you here for? zero compassion from McKenzie. My anxiety hit the roof I jumped up threw off my mask and ran out. Not one person came looking for me or checking on me. I never got a phone call or anything.
By the way when I was talking to the ladies at the desk they gave me a card and laughingly said here call them they'll be happy to listen to you. As if they could care less. This office is unbelievable please never go there the staff is horrible

I have NEVER been treated so rudely, unprofessional & coldly by a so called professional medical worker then I was by Dr. Worthington’s office staff, especially the woman at the front desk who answers phones and books appts. She has a horrid attitude and treats you like you are some sort of enemy of hers instead of providing caring answers to simple understandable questions. I had an upcoming colonoscopy in a little over a week. My diet was already VERY restrictive after having a 3rd bout of Diverticulitis a month ago. I was eating healthy when I had the attack and not until the last couple weeks was I able to figure out a diet that was safe for me to eat without any distress or new attacks. I have been in tears before that frustrated w/not being able to eat anything. I called the office today to ask about the “week before rules” since the instruction paper they give you is very limited. I do plant based protein shakes in the morning, & strained organic fresh juicing (no pulp) in the afternoon daily w/a healthy dinner later that is completely free of gluten, dairy, soy, red meat, hamburgers, pork, seeds, skin on fruit or vegetables including potatoes, or raw whole vegetables or fruits in pieces, or any processed, fast food or restaurant food. Well I asked her about the juicing since it’s a main part of my diet & she was sarcastic in response since the paper states Raw fruit & vegetables. She also wasn’t even sure of herself so I pressed on. I said I understand eating whole chopped up raw veggies/fruits would be bad but why not juice? It didn’t make sense to me & I’ve had colonoscopies before that didn’t have anything like that. I asked if it was strained of all pulp & all it was is juice why couldn’t it be drank during that week before? I told her my diet was very limited already & I didn’t have a lot of choices. She acted indignant & rude so I got off the phone & spoke to my husband who is one of the manager’s at the YRMC hospital in Prescott. It didn’t make sense to him either & I was frustrated. So I called back (glutton for punishment I guess) to ask about smooth peanut butter the week before. The paper just says no nuts, seeds, corn, chia seed, flax seed, granola, or bread that has oats. None of which I would eat anyway. But I thought smooth peanut butter would be fine since it’s been smoothed and heated. I am well aware of what gets stuck in intestines & I assumed they meant nuts, as in whole nuts. Again she was sarcastic and rude. I’m just trying to find something I can eat for that week before. I told her I’m not a regular McDonalds and Arby’s eating person who can eat anything, and she right away said meanly, “What is that supposed to mean?!” I said it means I don’t have lots of choices of what to eat like other people do and my diet is very limited already. I mean a hamburger at McDonalds or a steak on the grill is fine? but smooth peanut butter is going to stick around your gut? So I asked about cream of rice cereal. Then she asked someone else because she was unsure the whole time while acting sarcastic. She asked Dr. Worthington’s nurse & the nurse said, “If she is questioning it then don’t eat it”. Wow okay. I question everything I eat these days which is why my diet is so strict. I was so upset because they were so rude and uncaring. I told the front desk lady that I actually feel like cancelling because I don’t feel like I am in safe hands anymore & she immediately said in a rude voice, “That’s your prerogative”. I asked to speak to the office manager and I never got a call back. I will be cancelling even though it’s been 10 years since my last colonoscopy & my grandma died of colon cancer. But I don’t feel like I’m in good hands here, especially since the doctors nurse was part of the sarcastic cold mix. I will go out of Prescott to find my care. Again, my husband is a manager at YRMC hospital in Prescott which is part of the Dignity Group and Dr. Worthington’s practice is part of that group that states, Mission, Vision, & Values & the way they treated me did NOT meet the vision or values.

Office staff are wretched. Took 9 months to get an appointment even though I am a returning patient. One month has passed and I still have no results from biopsy or polyps. I haven’t received a bill from a pathologist yet which means it’s possible that the biopsy and polyps were lost in the mail.

I found Dr. Worthington to be an extremely caring and knowledgeable physician. He answered questions that I was previously unable to get answers about from other gastroenterologists! I am thrilled to have a doctor of this caliber in Northern Arizona. Have recommended him to many friends in the area.

Dr. Worthington is a great doctor. He is still on the part-time faculty at Johns Hopkins, and his years of experience teaching and doing research show in the way he helped us understand my mother's disease (Crohn's) and how best to treat it. He is patient, and takes his time, never rushes in and out, and he really cares. He is an excellent clinician, rated one of the best in the state of Arizona, and is the only doctor I have ever known who gave us his cell number in case we had any questions or problems. My mother has a complicated problem and he has gotten her into remission and off steroids for the first time in her life.
