I had two colonoscopies with Dr. Pleva. The first was fine--he saw me in his office before the procedure, explained anesthesia options and was helpful. Procedure went well. Second time, five years later, I asked for and got an 8 a.m. appointment to avoid waiting and delays. He kept me waiting for over an hour in a cold cubicle that felt even colder because I was dehydrated and hungry from prep. When I was finally wheeled into the procedure room, I had to wait another 20 minutes while he made a phone call. That's a disrespectful way to treat an elderly patient--or any patient

He requires payment in advance for procedures, which is fine. However, my procedure was cancelled because the surgical facility closed due to Covid. The Dr’s office never returned my call about the status, but the surgical facility did call me to let me know they had to close. A week later Dr. Pleva’s Office cashed my check for the procedure not done. The office did not return my call about the check and never called to reschedule the procedure. I had a good first visit with the Dr, so I assume his office staff is the problem. Why would they not return calls?

Dr Pleva gets right down to business. He called me with results. Colonoscopy experience went well. I will see him again when the time comes.

This was the worst experience with any physician. I was originally referred to Dr. Wang but the front desk said I could get in to see Dr. Pleva sooner. My appointment was right after lunch break at 115 and Dr. Pleva was one hour late. He looked at the computer and my intake form the whole time and never talked with me except for question about my height since it was entered wrong on the form. He gave me the forms for the procedures and that was it. I called the office after my appointment and detailed my concerns and asked that Dr. Wang do the procedures; Dr. Pleva billed my insurance for nutritional counseling which I did not receive nor would I see him as a credible person to offer this service. I would never suggest a friend or neighbor see this doctor.

Very unprofessional staff at front desk. Arrived for appt and was turned away because they didnt accept my secondary insurance which when they made the appt and I informed them on the phone of my insurance infor. I also received their patient forms in the mail the same day of my appt but it was after I was turned away. Looking at the website it has my secondary insurance through AHCCCS- Health Choice . They also called and confirmed by appt and than I arrived they informed me that I could not see the Dr.!!!!! Very very disappointed in this medical office.

They lost my procedure appointment less than 24 hours after THEY called ME to schedule it. Good thing I called back with an insurance question or I would have shown up for the procedure THEY scheduled only to find out I'm not on their calendar.

Compared to previous gastroenterologists I had, this one is superior! He called me himself to inform me about the procedure results. He offered to cancel follow-up appointment since my problem was resolved. He cares about his patients, not about his wallet!

Worst experience. I have had multiple colonoscopy's and have never remembered the experience until now. Did not discuss complications at followup appt., frankly I do not think he remembered I quit breathing. Will NEVER go back. He is not recommended by other doctors and now I know why. Explains why you can get an appointment quickly.

Dr. Pleva explained to me in simple words what other physicians could not make me understand. He does procedures at a very nice facility with pleasant staff. I would recommend him to anyone!
