I found Dr. Smith by accident but I'm really happy I did. I have been going to him for over a year now and what I really like about him is that, unlike every other psychiatrist I've been to, he actually talks to me and takes an interest in helping me. Other doctors would make me wait for almost an hour only to talk to me for 5 minutes. Dr. Smith always takes time to talk to me, sometimes even going over a few minutes after the appointment ends, to make sure I said everything I needed to say. He can be a bit forgetful and old-fashioned sometimes, which led to argue with him on one occasion, but ultimately I know he cares about his patients a lot.

he did more harm then good. Did no follow up on the change of medicines. Had a very negative experience that caused major panic attacks. Worst experience I ever had

I love Dr. Smith and have been going to him for many years. He truly cares about his patients lives and pushes them to do their best and strive to be the best they can be. He always remembers everything that I say and while he has no problem giving constructive criticism, he often praises me for my accomplishments and makes me feel good about how far I have come. The only downfall is the front desk staff, one in particular is so rude and has no empathy whatsoever! They are also given way to much decision making powers while they have no medical background at all. For instance, how many time you need to go to the therapist and what they think you can afford. In my opinion and I am sure some of the doctors feel this way, a doctor should be making patient decisions not the front desk staff, never heard of such a thing, so crazy!! However, dealing with them is well worth it as Dr. Smith is a god-send, and I would be truly lost without him, thx Dr.Smith you are truly a wonderful person!!

I had a new patient visit and within minutes of meeting this doctor, he was telling me to end my current relationship, find a replacement for my mother, date much older men, expedite dating so I could have kids soon since I just turned 30 and kids have been shown to guarantee happiness. He was egotistical, rude, presumptuous, didn't solicit my opinon or thoughts and when I questioned his treatment style since I have been in good therapy before he told me he operates this way cause he didnt have time to keep seeing patients over multiple visits and insurance would only pay for a limited amount of visits. If you want a driveby experience where you have no say in your ttreatment or the decision making process then this is the doctor for you...

I love Dr. Smith. I have been going to him for the past 4 years. In my opinion, he is extremely knowledgeable about addiction & psychiatry in general. He is not the type of Doc to just sit there & write a prescription & send you on your way. He actually cares about what goes on in your personal life. He always remembers everything that I have said in previous sessions & seems to really take an active interest in my case. Dr. Smith really seems to want to help me when I am in distress or need some advice or a medication that he thinks would help me. He also is aware of the dangers of addiction and especially how addicts (like myself) can become addicted to almost anything. He encourages tapering of meds when he thinks the patient is ready. He is not just one of those docs that writes you a monthly prescription forever. He takes an active interest in getting you off medications if he thinks you can handle it. So if you are looking for a pill pusher- go somewhere else.
