Initially you see the doctor but after that it is just assistants. I had multiple surgeries since I first saw them. The last one they took over the pain management but under prescribed what the surgeon recommended. This led to a 5 day pain medication shortage. Went in to get a new prescription but then they told the pharmacy not to fill it. It was not denied by the doctor but by an assistant that was not involved in the case. She actually lied to the pharmacist saying she checked with the doctor but I learned later she had not. I tried to get in touch with the doctor to speak with him. Explain the situation. However the receptionists and later assistant would not allow it. I explained I would be in intense pain for the next five days. Her response was literally ,"Oh well." Will be switching pain doctors but will now have to somehow survive the next 5 days. I will be filing a complaint with the Medical Board of California. If you are experiencing something similar you should do the same. Doctors who care so little for their patients, should not be allowed to practice. http://www.mbc.ca.gov/

I just want to say that I have always been impressed with Dr. Jay's bed side manner as he approaches each situation with an honest evaluation. The last time I saw the Doctor was for an ailment that had been diagnosed from an emergency room and 3 days later Dr. Jay had re-diagnosed my ankle and provided a quick solution. I was told that I had torn ligaments but it actually turned out to be a really bad sprain and Dr. Jay had me walking like new in 2 weeks. I just like to say that if your lucky enough to get to see Dr. Jay Hendrickson, he is a stand up physician in my book!

I am a current patient at this office. I was referred over by my primary care doctor. I do not feel the doctor pushes drugs. When dealing with pain, especially when hard to diagnose, I believe they make attempts to identify the problem. Physical therapy didnt help my problem nor did accupunture or chiropractic. As for not doing x-rays, I had all my tests done by my primary before coming over so I cant comment on the lack of diagnosing. I feel they do their best and give hope instead of giving out drugs and saying there is nothing we can do. They cant cure the problem, just find ways to ellivate most of the pain.

Dr. Hendrickson misdiagnosed me. On my first appointment, we talked for about 5 minutes, then, without doing ANY tests, he diagnosed me. Only nine months later, when my severe constant pain drove me to other doctors, did I find that Dr. Hendrickson's diagnosis was wrong. My new doctor did an X ray and back MRI. Why didn't Dr. Hendrickson do ANY tests? Dr. Hensdrickson wanted to do spinal injections for me in the surgery center he owns. My new doctor sent me to physical therapy as a way to correct the root cause of pain instead of temporarily masking it with injections. Also, his office is focussed on being profitable, not helping patients get the best and correct care. No attempt was made to do an accurate diagnosis. AS a result, I sufferd in severe pain and was unable to work. I'm not sure what to think about pain management doctors anymore. I am in so much pain and need help, most doctors roll their eyes at pain. Dr. Hendrickson tries to help but shouldn't he do the proper tests first

I have been to this doctor several times and I have never seen a legal drug pusher like him before. His staff is unknowledgeable and untrained and he pushes the drugs he wants to push and it has nothing to do with helping you with your pain. Hopefully law enforcement will notice this guy soon and put him out of business as I think he is a danger to the general population.
