I had stage 1 & stage 3 cancer of the pancreas. Dr. Strasberg removed the pancreas, spleen, gall bladder & some lymph nodes in an 8 hour surgery. I was in Barnes Hospital for one week then home for 3 weeks of rehab. I had little pain and am now going thru chemo. I feel great, back to my old self. And even tho I am old (78)) I don't feel it and told I don't look it. I give credit to this wonderful surgeon for giving me my life back.

I wonder if this is the same Dr. Strasberg who saved my mother's life when he performed surgery to remove cancerous tumour in her liver in Toronto in 1979? If so, words can never say how much we appreciate him. Mom was rushed to Toronto from Thunder Bay, Ontario for emergency surgery in very serious condition. Apparently she was the 5th person to have this surgery done ever. Her case was written in the New England Journal of Medicine. I think my brother told me that Dr. S said that nobody had lived past 5 years after this surgery. We are so pleased that he worked his magic to give us back our Mom for 25 years longer. Our family has thought of him many times and feel we owe him the world! Even though 14 years has gone by since she passed, we have always had him in our thoughts. I really hope this is the same Dr Strasberg and would love to share that with him, as well as our thanks. I doubt that he will read this but we feel the need to share this story with everyone
