Dr. Reitman would not give me a referral for a second opinion after I had unexplained chills, leg weakness, and 30 pound wait loss over two months, in which I saw her three times. She told me she would consider giving me a referral if I lost another 5 pounds. Two days later I was in the hospital and found out I had a blood infection. I then had a splenal infarction and ended up having mitral valve repair.
I just don't understand how a good internist wouldn't have done some tests to see why I lost 30 pounds in two months, had unexplained chills, and couldn't walk.

Dr. Lori Reitman has provided me medical care for over ten years. She is an excellent physician. She is very knowledgeable, professional, thorough and listens carefully to make a diagnosis.

Her staff at her new practice in Olney are also wonderful. I could not recommend her more highly.

I too have gone to Dr. Lori Reitman for many years, she is a good Dr. and you don't need to be best buds with your physician. However, her coldness, lack of empathy, lack of time , condescending nature and never returning a phone call just led me to the conclusion that it was time to say goodbye. I have found the most amazing Dr. who called me back today with blood results and a game plan to repeat blood work in three months and to talk on the phone with those results. Worth the wait for the first visit!

While going to Dr. Reitman on and of for a few years, I finally decided to stop seeing her. She can be extremely impersonal, and a lot of times she treats the appointment like it is a waste of her time. She is quick to come in, make her diagnosis and be on her way. She doesn't like follow up, and patients are "not allowed" to go in for follow up appointments, she will send you a note with lab results, etc. Although she may be a knowledgeable doctor, she has extremely poor bedside manner and doesn't sincerely care about the well being of her patients.

Dr. Reitman is a first rate, no nonsense, professional. She knows her stuff and is very pleasant to boot. Can't ask for anything more in a doctor.

Dr. Reitman is a knowledgable doctor, although she is very clinical and wants to come in diagnose and leave. She is not the best with follow up, she doesn't recommend follow up appointments, and will have the staff contact you.
