Dr. Podell was my primary care physician for four or five years. He consistently struck me as abrupt and a bit rude throughout. While I grant it's important, he seems overly focused on nutrition as an answer to every problem. The worst though was the year I got shingles. After going to a clinic the day I realized what the problem was, I tried to make an appointment with Podell as well to follow up on the clinic's advice. Despite having seen him for multiple years at that point, I was unable to get an appointment with him within a month, so was forced to schedule with the nurse practitioner who worked with him. She clearly had little to no experience with shingles, reading information from her computer the entire visit, and recommended I take medication that in hindsight I clearly didn't need (and which triggered persistent insomnia that I'm suffering from to this day).

Needs a bedside manner! Arrogant. Always promoting himself and his vitamins/supplements. Needs to check his ego at the door! Inappropriate. Comments on undergarments!

I found Podell to be over fixated on blood parameter numbers, and did not listen well to what the symptoms have been. I work in the medical field, yet he did not like questions from valid knowledge, or questions about his decided approach. He is very enamored with himself, repeatedly complementing his own diagnosis for example. Obnoxious and self-absorbed.

Sent my husband to him and could not have been happier with this doctor! He motivated my husband to get healthy, lose weight and start taking care of himself (something I couldn't do for 15 years!) Very informative, caring, involved with his patients health care. Would recommend him!

Fantastic internist. Very tenatious doc who truly listens and has the desire to really want to figure out what is wrong with you. Doesn't stop until he does and continues until treated completely. Very through and genuine. Not afraid to consult with other docs or allow for other opionions. Cannot say enough great things about him.
