Dr. Whitehurst has been my PCP for many years. She is an excellent physician and before she joined Ghent Family Practice and Internal Medicine was compassionate, present, pro-active, listened and answered questions. I felt very fortunate to have her as my doctor. But since joining Ghent Family Practice she is continually scattered, rushed, stressed and far more involved in what their computer system wants than what her patient needs. The practice itself is by far the worst I've ever encountered. Nasty, sloppy, rude, uncaring front desk staff, who rarely bother to answer the phone, or deliver messages and act as if every patient exists only to annoy them. Doctor Whitehurst's nurse is even worse, no skills (other than data entry) but massive attitude. He's arrogant, obnoxious and continually whining about his job, his salary, his employer and the patients he is paid to assist. I've reached the point of evaluating whether even the best doctor is worth dealing with the miserable staff.

I find Dr. Whitehurst very compassionate and always willing to listen to me during office visits. In the years she has been my primary care physician she has yet to misdiagnose anything with regard to my health. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a competent, compassionate doctor.

Dr Whitehurst is one of the most compassionate and understanding physicians. She will take a sincere interest in you. She will spend extra time with you, unlike most of todays physicians who practice medicine only as a $business$. The office is ole and very outdated in decor, but her outstanding care makes up for the environment.

takes her time and is very thorough. if i have to wait i am okay with that because i know she is spending as much time with a patient as she dopes with me.

Dr. Whitehurst responds thouroughly to questions with an above average intelligence and knowlege. She spends a great amount of time answering questions and has a great amount of patience. The office is old but neat and clean. Front office staff not always friendly but her personal nurse is a real gem.
