I saw Basta 4 years ago as a follow up to a previous years Spinal Lamination by another physician who left our community to join a different practice. Basta at that time told me he wouldn’t do anything further unless things became worse. Last Spring my personal physician had another MRI / X-ray and concluded the disc above my lamination was crushed and it was time to try Basta again. My appointment was set but I had a 5 month wait. Today was my appointment at last. On arrival I was told my appointment had been canceled. That the receptionist had tried to leave me a message. On inquiring we learned my phone number was transposed and she told me she realized she hadn’t reached me. But zero effort was made to follow through; not an email, inquiry with my referring physician or not even an attempt to find me and message through google or Facebook for that matter. I think some kind of effort after waiting six months would be due. Why? Because I was told next week is a busy surgery week and his schedule is busy and my next opportunity would be sometime in October another 2 months. I live with a lot of pain. I’ve dealt with a lot of pain and it’s been getting worse continuously as I’ve waited to get in. Now the best he can do is wait two more months? People tell me he’s a gifted surgeon. The way the practice is run is another thing altogether.

Had brain surgery 16 days ago, performed by Dr. Basta. I would recommend him to anyone. He was clear about my options from my initial meeting with him. Surgery itself went pretty much without any problems. I felt confident and safe, and wouldn't hesitate to go to him for any other surgery I may need. His office staff are all great. The hospital staff left a lot to be desired, however.
