They cancelled my first appointment. For the rescheduled one I arrived and waited 55 minutes to go in for a simple 10 minute appt. I was frustrated by other logistical items like there is poor signage to find the right desk on the floor. I had to ask and when you get to the desk, it isn't customer friendly. I am standing there with baby in hand and they are having me sign forms with no where to sit. Then I waited 55 minutes. They told me at 30 minutes it would be just a minute. At 45 minutes, they said that no room was ready. ??? Then at 55, we did basic baby measurements in a side room. They could have done that while I waited since I was the only person waiting for about 20 minutes. Then I had to wait in the room for the doc despite being told he had no other people and would be right there. The doc was fine but the office management was the worst.

I have been a patient of Dr Hanways for over 15 years now. I began seeing him when I was 6 Years old for a rare bone disorder called, Multiple Hereditary Osteochondroma. Over the years, I have have had 10 surgeries to remove the bone tumors that were causing pain. Dr Hanway has removed every single one. He is a great Doctor, and definately knows what he is taking about. My mother was always particular about the doctors that treated me, she always had to do her full research. I am very greatful that she found Dr. Hanway for me, I am not sure i would be the same today had I not seen him years ago. My pain level has significantly decreased over the years. The only complaint I would ever have, is that ever since he started at Children's Hospital there is a longer waiting time. But trust me, its worth the 1-2 hour wait.

We had Dr. Hanway years ago. Just looked up his name for a medical history and saw this site. My daughter had atlanto-axial rotatory subluxation. I think that is a bit rare, but Dr. Hanway had experience with it and diagnosed it immediately. She had to be hospitalized for a week in traction. Eventually she had to have a halo. Dr. Hanway was wonderful and attentive through the whole horrible experience. At a post hospital clinic visit, my daughter had a full-blown screaming meltdown. She thought she was going home. He put us in his private office for at least 30 minutes until she calmed down. A few weeks after the halo came off she relapsed and he thought she might have to have spinal fusion, but decided to give physical therapy a try, and thankfully that worked. She is fine today. No further problems, no fused spine. His technician was kind and gentle with my daughter. Hanway has a busy office and I do recall having to wait more than normal.

He took great care of my kids. It's seldom that you encounter someone who is not only professionally excellent, but is also great with kids and extremely easy to communicate with.

He has treated two of my kids for clubbed feet. (So whoever told another person below that he doesn't evaluate feet didn't know what they were talking about...sorry that staff person answered the phone). We always wait a while past appointment time to see him. He does take the time to answer all my questions and address my concerns. He does use medical words that I have to ask him to explain sometimes. He is very kind and patient with the children (as one screamed and cried at every appointment for a while....because of the casts not him personally)

We wasted our time. And it was a lot of time. We did not even see his assistant until an hour and a half past out appointment time. And we saw him two hours later. No apologies. He breezed in, didn't listen to our concerns, talked down to us and was really one of the most appalling doctors with whom we have met. He told us to follow up in 4-6 weeks. Since he could not tell us a thing, nor did he even care what other doctors and professionals thought, we are going elsewhere. A lady in the lobby said she had waited six hours for him last time. In this particular date, she had already waited two before she told the nurse forge it-this is not worth it. Save your time and money and go elsewhere!

i feel it best to first say that i never actually saw this doctor, my rating it completely directed at his staff. i was reffered by the spina bifida clinic for my infant daughter. when i called to make the appointment i was told they would schedule me for march 11 and they would get back to me with a specific time, since that is also the date of her SB clinic i said that depending on the time that date might not work for me, the women restated that they would contact me with a time, so i decided to let it go at that figuring i could always refuse the appointment if it conflicted. 3 weeks later i called them back since i hadnt hear from them. i spoke to a male this time. after being put on hold for 15 minutes i was told that the dr did not 'do this' (evaluate my daughter feet) i was blown away, i cant believe he doesnt evaluate childrens' feet so i figured his staff is worse than useless so i decided to go somplace where i didnt have to overcome staff incompitence.

He is awesome! My son had a clubbed foot and he treated him with casts and braces. My son is a "normal" boy and I am forever grateful!

Dr. Hanway did surgery on both of my daughters. He removed a broken off bone growth above the knee of my oldest daughter and he did scoliosis surgery on my youngest. I thought that he did a great job for both daughters .
