Absolutely rude, stormed away like a child after asking for proper care.

I've had amazing experiences with the majority of the staff at this hospital, however, one doctor in particular, Dr. Reichel, lacks some much needed bed side manner. I went in yesterday, knowing once I got there it would be a long wait, but in pain I just wanted some relief and had no issue patiently waiting. I had my X-ray done and was given a bed in room 2, this is when I was sitting there, not bothering anyone, when the above mentioned doctor felt it was necessary to stop, it must be emphasized, without being promoted, and let me know that it would be awhile because there were others who had much more serious problems. I just nodded, as I learned long ago if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. I was more than aware of the wait, and understand fully it's not first come, first serve in the ER. Shortly after, I was asked to move to the family room and wait, which was of course fine, I would not want someone who needed a bed more than I to not have access to it. So I moved to the family room and waited for about two and a half hours. In that time not one person checked on me or my pain, even though I mentioned it was relatively high on the pain scale or offer any relief. I left with some print outs and not hearing what my X-ray showed but that I was probably right in my own self diagnosis. I just know to follow up with a primary care. I in no way needed to be pampered or babied during my visit. All that was needed was a little respect and compassion. I respect the job medical professional perform but the ball was dropped on this visit. As for Doctor Reichel, after multiple interactions over the years, I would not describe him as a nice or caring person. I could have dealt with the experience if not for his rude comments, plus, he didn't even end up visiting my room once after that.

my granddaughter went to the ER thinking she had cankor sores along with some other symptoms. He went along with her self diagnosis. Said they were a classic case of cankor sores. Was rude and said he didn't have a magic pill to help her and wouldn't prescribe pain meds although she couldn't eat for days. She had swollen feet and he ignore that. Next day took her to Santa Barbara ER. She had the flu and cold sores and was extremely dehydrated which is why feet swollen. They gave her some magic mouth wash and was able to eat.
