If you have POTS or suspect you might, I DO NOT recommend this doctor. I saw him multiple times over several years while he practiced in Indianapolis. I feel I suffered greatly because of him. He tried to make me believe my symptoms were in my head and anxiety related, even though I knew they were not. At one appt, he was so adamant that this was the case, that I finally conceded and left the appt in tears. I tried to ignore my symptoms for several years because of this and lost a great deal of quality in my life. I am very thankful for experienced and knowledgeable cardiologists at the Cleveland Clinic, who in two visits, recognized my symptoms, ordered a tilt test, diagnosed me, and have ordered proper treatment for my POTS. I feel I have suffered physically, emotionally and mentally because of this doctor. I feel it was more important for him to be right (that there was nothing wrong with me), than for him to listen and truly take the time to figure out what was wrong. I saw listed on one of his pages that he does tilt tests. That is definitely not a test he ever mentioned to me. Even when I called his office and told them that I had realized that all of my symptoms started when I stood up. I even specifically asked for a treadmill stress test (standing, of course), but he answered back that he had done the MRI stress test (lying down) and that was the most advanced test out there. I was also told that my monitor I wore for several days showed nothing, but upon review, it actually showed many times where I was experiencing tachycardia and that was never questioned or even brought up. I am writing this to help ensure that no other patient with suspected POTS suffers under Dr. Elliott's care. POTS was never mentioned. However, there were other tests done (by another physician) that had brought up the possibility of a pheochromocytoma. This, as I have since learned is a differential diagnosis for POTS. He again felt that pointed to anxiety, never taking the time to try and figure me out. Thank you Dr Elliott for nothing...except making me question my sanity on multiple occasions. I hope you actually see this review and take it to heart. You are forever part of my life, and not a good part. Blessings, from a patient on the mend thanks to the Cleveland Clinic.
