This doctor is the best G-I. I have ever seen. He is a good listener and is a wise man!

I have seen Dr Gan on and off for a few years and he's always been very helpful and willing to take the time to explain everything in great detail. I also recently had a colonoscopy procedure and it was a (relative) breeze. It was about as uneventful as I could have hoped. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Gan did a procedure that I could not get at Group Health. He was wonderful and instead of staying in the hospital for several days and recovery taking up to 3 months, Dr. Gan did my procedure and I was back at work the next day singing his praises. I can't say enough about the male nurse I had. I always get sick from the medication but he said with him taking care of me I would feel "fabulous." He was right!

I saw Dr. Gan back in Feb 2011 and ongoing until Aug 2011. I could not have asked for better care between him and everyone at Virginia Mason. I am surprised at that first review. Does not sound like him at all. I am currently dealing with some new issues and am making a trip up to Seattle from Portland just to see Dr. Gan and get a 2nd opinion because I trust him that much..

I would trust NO ONE else to touch my surgically-altered anatomy! Dr. Gan is an absolute professional and I'm literally shocked at the review, below. That is so far outside his general personality, I'm surprised we're talking about the same Doctor! Please don't be off-put by that review - he's a brilliant Doctor whom I trust with all of my endoscopic needs.

I was assigned to Dr. Gan for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. After reading the negative review on this site, I was quite worried that I would have a bad experience, but he was actually fine. (I don't doubt that the other person did have a bad experience, but either he has improved, or that was an off day for him). He was friendly, explained things well, and I felt no pain at all during the procedure. His manner was slightly hurried, but less so than many other doctors I've had, and he did take time to answer the questions I had.

My husband just had the most horrible experience with this doctor. Absolutely horrible. He performed an endoscopic procedure on my husband and did not use enough sedative. My husband was totally away during the whole painful uncomfortable process and had to be restrained. He was incredibly rude to my husband and acted like this procedure was a complete inconvenience to him. I am going to be writing a letter to the hospital where this procedure was performed and perhaps to the American Medical Association. I am just disgusted.
