Diagnosed me as bi-polar after 10 minute initial exam. Placed me on seraquel and lexapro. Changed meds after increasing seraqel dosage which left me very groggy. I requested talk therapy referral and he ignored me and didn't refer me. He seems disinterested, distracted and rushed. He doesn't explain why or what 2 expect with meds. His wait time was never less than 30 minutes after scheduled time. He would start writing scripts b4 u even started to finish asking his few inquiries. His 1 on 1 was never more than 10 minutes b4 he stands and walks you 2 door. I lost my job and insurance and informed staff of this while trying to set an appointment via phone during a depressive episode. They didn't call back and when I followed up they said I was no longer a patient of his. I saw him for 2 years and feel abandoned. I would recommend anyone who has mental issues to avoid this doctor. He explained nothing and seemed annoyed if you asked questions. No online resources offered or suggested.

I love Dr. Bishop and Dr. Wiley. I also needed someone to talk to and T. Nelson has been my sounding board. God bless you and the other doctors who have taken care of me through these years.

My 10 year old daughter was referred to Dr. Bishop for sudden onset of hallucinations, anxiety, headaches, and a family hx of seizures. He ordered an EEG and did not follow up on it for two and a half weeks. Every time I called or asked I was told it was not there. Finally, I called St. Dominic's myself and had it sent to his office. The EEG was ABNORMAL! She has generalized epilepsy. We have had a traumatic experience to say the least. He also is not interested in answering questions. Find another doctor!

The office staff was very rude and seemed annoyed in general. Everyone working in the office seems very unhappy. No one smiles or makes you feel welcomed in any way. The doctor never spent more than ten min. with me. He giggles a lot and never makes much eye contact. It's obvious that he doesn't like to answer any questions and basically wants you out of his office as soon as possible. Once I asked him to explain something to me and he became very frustated and even angry. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience. I would never recommend him to anyone.

He decided to change my meds after prescribing the same thing for 2.5 years. The new meds did not work and when I told him that he said that there was no other option then. What happened to the meds that worked for 2.5 years? He wants you in and out so no time for questions....

Just as everyone else has stated, he rushes you, does not listen, and does not seem to care. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone especially if they have a complex problem. I went to him about a year and just got scripts out of it and that was it. His staff is also terrible, very unwelcoming.

I've had to see a lot of psychiatrists and he's one of those who really can't hide that he doesn't really want to hear about what you've been through and it just comes through that he wants you out of his office real quick. He doesn't really seem to care.

Dr. Bishop was my first psychiatrist I ever saw. I knew I had major depression. He laughs too much, giggles, hyperactive in his office, does not make a sick patient feel welcomed and accepted. I lasted about 2 years with him until he just took me off cold turkey of an antidepressant and I ended up in the ER with an attempted suicide attempt. Needless to say, that was all it took for me to stop seeing him.

He said I might be bipolar but since I was currently in a depressed state, prescribed me antidepressants. Reasonable except he didn't tell me that antidepressants would (and almost always do) flip a bipolar person into a manic state if not combined with a mood stablizer, which is exactly what happened to me. He didn't tell me I could call if I had any problems or concerns. It was a "Here's your prescription, go away now" situation. He spent less that 8 minutes with me during my intake appointment and charged me almost $200! AVOID DR. BISHOP.
