Could not have asked for a better surgeon for my daughter who has crohns disease. Since diagnosis, she has had several doctors and several surgeries. Now she is in the care of Dr Deveaux... for life! His compassion, knowledge and ability to talk with her with honesty and facts, was all she needed to put faith back into herself, that she can heal and bounce back and live a productive life.

Dr. Deveaux is the best! How fortunate the University of Louisville is to have him on their staff teaching future surgeons. I had a right hemi colectomy due to colon cancer and my surgery could not have gone better. Just as others have said, he is polite, a good listener, compassionate as well as being smart and highly skilled.

Dr. Devaux is really good at listening to you. He does not make you feel rushed or that you are wasting his time. He explains things that a non-doctor can understand. I have Ulcerative colitis and have been sick for years. After my surgery I felt wonderful and was out of the hospital faster than he said. I had no complications and he saw me at least one time every day and made sure the nurses did what he said. I would recommend him to take care of my family if they ever get sick. Great doctor!

Awesome doctor. He is polite, professional, takes time to answer all of my questions, and has a really good bedside manner. I had to have re-operative surgery to fix complications caused by other doctors. I had heard he was the surgeon other doctors go to so that is why I chose him. I could not have been more happy with him as a doctor and as a human being. I would recommend him highly to everyone.

Awesome surgeon. Friendly. Performed a bowel resection on me related to numerous abscesses in my abdomen secondary to an appendectomy where all of the debris was not removed. I had been originally diagnosed with Crohn's Disease which is why he was doing the resection in the first place (bowel is very hard to see even with imaging equipment) but he quickly realized and corrected the problem during surgery. Friendly and open - made sure my surgery was done so I wouldn't have to wait until he returned from Afghanistan - awesome!
