I have been going to Dr. Zak for about 15 years and I love her. She is very thorough and takes the time to talk to you and explain things.

Dr. Zak delivered my 1st baby and I had no issues. My 2nd was different. She completely ignored my husband at visits. I called in several times from 6 weeks on with bleeding and she always had the nurse call me back saying "just watch it." Never did an exam, never seemed concerened. Docs shouldn't be over attached or emotional but they should show some care and she just didnt. My water broke at 23 weeks for no reason and my baby was born premature at 25 weeks. She seemed so uncaring and detached but I feel if she had taken 5 minutes to do an exam or anything it might have prolonged my pregnancy. I'm seeing a new OB gyn for this pregnancy, Dr. Kelley, and its such a HUGE difference in care. You have options so do your research.

Dr. Zak comes off as very uncaring or sympathetic to problems, although her nurse is very nice. She is very ruff and hurts with pap smears. Just makes you feel awful. The front office staff is the worst!! The check-in girl is just rude!! And calling in on 3/23 I couldn't get through or many other times. I think they really need new management because they sure don't know how to run a business and the people there are always new. I will never go back! Now go to Dr. Groom who is amazing and has such a nice staff!!

I went to dr zak at 7 weeks pregnant a week later I started to bleed and had alot of cramping I called her office they told me to come in I waited for 40 mins. I saw her nurse she asked me a ton of questions then asked if I had to use the restroom I said yes so I did and then went in the room to wait for dr zak. She came in and said lets do an ultrasound well she said she couldnt see anything and then asked if I had used the restroom I said yes the nurse had asked if I needed to she said well I cant see anything so we will just have to draw blood. She told me she was going out of town so another dr would call me well no one ever called I had to call them and they told me I had a miscarriage. I would not recommend this dr to anyone.`

I want to Dr. Zak for my first child. Her bedside manner stinks. She stripped my membranes without telling me what she was doing and then the next visit informed me I was ready to be induced. I told her I didn't WANT to be induced. She pushed and pushed- I said I'd talk to my husband (he was there). Nothing to talk about- unless there was a medical reason I didn't want an induction. I walked in her office to tell her and she told me I was strep B + and she'd already called and scheduled my induction. I ended up calling and canceling the induction. Went into labor 3 days after my edd. Once ready to deliver waited 20 + min. for doctor with baby's head crowning. She walked in, but on her stuff and gave me an episiotomy the first time I pushed- no chance to see if I could do it without like I'd asked. Basically she has an "I'm the doctor, you're the patient" attitude. If you don't do what she wants- look out. She may have knowledge but so do other doctor's who also listen.

I only went to this doctor because mine retired. I presented her with the meds I was prescibed by my previous doctor due to my GYN issues. She informed me that Xanax was bad for me and that I should stop taking it. However, she did not inform me that I had to taper off of this drug due to the side effects of doing such. She was too busy trying to walk out as I was asking her why it was so bad for me. So I guit taking them as she sounded sincere. Long story short...I then went through the worst experiance of my life ever. I was hallucinating, loss of short term memory, panick attacks, didn't sleep for two weeks, couldn't eat, etc. etc. I never returned to this doctor and would not recommend her also because she was inconsiderate, rude, and seemed as though she could care less.

Dr. Zak delivered my son. Dr. Zak suggested that I be induced because she wanted to go on vacation, I reluctantly agreed. Once in the delivery room, the nurse staff @ the hospital contacted her several times @ home. When she finally arrived, she was carrying a conversation in the hallway until a nurse had to yell at her to get inside my room. I held him "in" for an 1 hr until she arrived. After the delivery, my uterus prolapsed & she made sure all of the nurses had a look (I didn't realize a prolapsed uterus was a big deal). Thanks Dr. Zak! But wait, it gets worse! At my 2 week appt, I had a terrible fever & took some tylenol. I stopped breastfeeding because I was afraid of the possible effects of the meds on my baby. When I informed Dr. Zak of my decision, she sort of got upset that I stopped breastfeeding. Then, she went next door and laughed about the reason behind my decision with her office staff. I heard them laughing and it was humilating. Take my advice, find another OB/GYN.

VERY rough/painful exam-hurried with feeling you represent more more anatomy than feeling human. Expensive . She is rough around the edges, abrupt, but is very knowledgable & is not afraid to tell you how it is. The strain of operating a practice in tough economic times shows. Office downgraded, over crowded, untidy.

I have been going to Dr. Zak for 18 years. I trust implicitly. I like her no nonsense approach, getting right to the point and her great knowledge. I can see some peoples point of her bedside manner. It isn't for everyone. But because of her strength in personality, she makes me brave when there is a concern or problem, because of her attitude. She has saved two of my friends lives, by diagnosing things that other Drs did not and could not detect. No she is not the sensitive type, but if you want someone who is an expert in there field, she is the one I recommend.
