Im still work in progress but at this time 3 weeks after a 5 level surgery Im already getting a real solid feeling on my feet! Prior to the surgery I suffered for 3 years with a post lamenectomy syndrome with scoliosis, stenosis, bone on bone grinding pain that even heavy doses of opiates couldnt control. Life became a 3 hour on my feet followed by a 2-3 hour on my bed life that would repeat itself day in and out,PLUS the pills which served no purpose at all.I heard of this "Miracle Dr." that if one Dr uses those words to describe another Dr risking his own reputation I had to go and meet him. All it took was one visit, I left his office with total confidence and a date for surgery. After the surgery I saw the before and after catscans and I literally broke down in tears to see the difference of the work that was done to my back.Im already walking with minimal use of a walker but dont forget it was a 5 level surgery.Pain?none from my historical ailment."Dr Miracle" wasnt a lie!!!

With all things being equal people choose to work with friends, with all things NOT being equal people still choose to work with friends. After two minutes in Brooklyn Hospital at 3:30am on a Friday night,Dr. Anders Cohen was our new best friend. His compassion, courtesy, knowledge, and expertise put us at ease in minutes. Dr. Cohen truley is a miracle worker. My wife had back surgery back in 1993 after a sports injury. After years of competitive soccer and two pregnancy's my wife's back was a disaster. Her legs were completely numb with pain and she was in her 4th spasm that month when we rushed from Babylon to Brooklyn at the hope of seeing Dr. Cohen.(he was on call)He arrived on a friday night at 3:30am in the morning and began treating my wife as if she was family. He didn't push surgery, he gave us many options. But after two more days of agony, we decided to let Dr. Cohen perform the surgery. It has been over four months and my wife has had a full recovery and is now on her thi

Dr. Cohen is one of the most efficient doctors that I have come across. My father had a life threatening tumor on his brain that was removed by Dr. Cohen. His professionalism, bed-side manner and sincere concern gave my family great ease in troubled times. The fact that without prompting, he rearranged his surgery schedule in order to get my father taken care of earlier than originally scheduled speaks volumes to his care for his patients. The hospital staff spoke nothing but praise when you mentioned Dr. Cohen's name. That is a remarkable thing if you know anything about a hospital environment. I cannot say enoughg good things about Dr. Cohen. Because of his work, and God guiding his hands, my father has a chance to recover his former self.

I would like to thank Dr. Cohen Anders for performing a delicate back surgery for my wife Natalia Kovaleva. At 33, women are very picky about how big the scar is and whether they are going to be able to walk nicely. It's been 2 months since the operation and my wife runs up and down the stairs, drives a car, and swims on a daily basis. Overall, she is back to her regular life without pain. I highly recomment Dr. Cohen as a surgeon and praying for him and his patients. Sincerely, priest Andrey Kovalev.

Anyone who knocks this site should listen up. I was all set to have back surgery and I was given Dr. Cohen's name for 2nd opinion. After checking them both out here, I saw Dr. Cohen and he gave me options the other place didn't. I was in & out in 1 day and except for some muscle cramps, I'm pain free for the first time in years.

I had my blood in brain. Dr. Cohen was my surgeon. Four days after surgery, I was discharged and walked home as a normal person! My family and I were very much excited! Before I left Hospital, I asked if I could see him. But I was told that he was at surgical room and was very much occupied. That meant I could not see him. But while I was lying on bed and waiting for my family to bring me home, I suddenly found that Dr. Cohen with his nurse, Marie Capella, were standing before my bed! It was 6pm! He told me that he had talked to me before surgery. But I did not remember, then I found that I had lost my sense at that time. Dr. Cohen is an excellent brain-surgeon and is a very easy-going doctor."

Before seeing Dr. Cohen I tried all types of treatment for my herniated disc (L5-S1) causing pain in my left leg. The pain was terrible - I had problems with sitting, standing for more than 5 minutes, even couldn't sleep without painkillers. At first my PCP referred me to an orthopedist who sent me to physical therapy (20 sessions and no relief). Then I decided to try acupuncture (also 20 sessions - no success). After that I had 3 epidurial injections which reduced the pain, but only for a week. After that I had 2 percutaneous discectomies - again no relief. After a few months I decided to find a doctor on my own and I found Dr. Cohen. Biggest factor of choosing him were the ratings on this site. After my first visit I knew I want him to perform the surgery on me. Today, 2 months after surgery I feel great - 90% of pain is gone and every day I feel better and better. After 2 years I was able to quit painkillers. If you have a herniated disc, Dr. Cohen is the only one to see for help!

There's nothing better than a personal referral in medicine. That's what led me to Dr. Anders Cohen. To boot, 2 of the patients in the waiting room were Doctor's relatives. That is powerful stuff. They referred to Dr. Cohen as the "XLIF King of New York". He gave me a crasg course in spine anatomy and showed me on my MRI where the problem was. I got a real sense of confidence about him, without all the arogant attitude one usually gets from a Manhattan surgeon. The hospital stay was very nice. The whole staff is really caring, especially the nurses and PA's. I have already given his referral to 2 friends. Great guy, excellent surgeon.

All I can say is that I travelled all the way from Philadelphia to have Dr. Anders Cohen do my lumbar back surgery. He offered a minimally invasive approach to take care of my problem; none of the 5 phycisians in Philly even gave that option. Thank God someone referred me to Dr. Cohen. After being in soooooo much pain, and how great I feel now, I would have come from California to see him. The fact that he is such a regular guy and easy to talk to made the experience that much better.
