He saved my husband's life after he suffered a life-threatening infection in his chest following lung surgery. Dr. Oduntan pays attention to details and was always available to make sure everything was going well. He had answers to promptly dealing with all the complications my husband suffered. We saw him everyday during the 32 day hospital stay, including weekends. Everyone at the hospital talks about his dedication and level of discipline. Would recommend him anyday.

    Biography

As an associate professor in the University of Florida Division of Thoracic Surgery, I assure patients that our team is with them every step along the way. I specialize in thoracic surgery, and my clinical and research areas of interest are benign diseases of the esophagus, esophageal cancer, general thoracic surgery and lung cancer.I received my medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and completed an internship and general surgery residency at the University College Hospital, also in Ibadan. I completed another general surgery residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, Hospital of Saint Raphael in Connecticut, and a cardiothoracic surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by an advanced general thoracic surgery fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital of Harvard Medical School. My specialty training is in robotic thoracic surgery, a type of minimally invasive surgery used in thoracic procedures for some lung cancer cases, and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery lobectomy, a minimally invasive surgical technique used to diagnose and treat problems of the chest. Outside of UF Health Shands Hospital, I am a committee member of the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE) and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS).In my free time, I enjoy staying active by playing tennis and soccer.
