Could not have been happier with my outcome from Dr. McMahon's handiwork. Well into my forties, I was a competitive powerlifter. I tore my supraspinatus during a heavy bench press training session: on the second rep of a set of two reps at 460lbs, the bar went awry and I heard something tear in the shoulder. Dr. McMahon was recommended by other powerlifters in the Pittsburgh metro area. Post-event, I literally could not lift that arm an inch when I was in Dr. McMahon's office. Him and his staff were very willing to facilitate a quick set of MRIs to nail down the diagnosis, a partial tear along with some other items gone amuck in the shoulder joint. Post surgery, all of the follow ups went well, (full disclosure) I did all of the tedious PT that was prescribed over the next several weeks. I remember my last office visit with Dr. McMahon, where I told him that I would let him know when I got back to bench pressing over 400lbs, ...his reply: an enthusiastic "that's the spirit!". This was mid-early 2012. With slow but steady work, I was back to benching over 400lbs within a year, and over the next five years went on to slowly surpass all of my previous personal bests, benching over 500lbs raw by late 2017. They say that you can judge the experience of a surgeon by the quality of his outcomes: based upon my experience, Dr. McMahon is quite the experienced surgeon! Thanks again, Dr!

Outstanding Doctor. So is the office staff. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my shoulder.

Dr McMahon is the BEST when it comes to shoulder issues! I have minimal scarring, and felt great immediately after a right shoulder repair. Fantastic surgeon, and is willing to go the extra mile in writing up letters for employers. In other words, I rarely had to go into his office for anything that could be handled via the phone. I would recommend this doctor to anyone experiencing a shoulder injury as a surgeon of choice. Also, after finding that my shoulder was no longer an issue, while I was continuing to experience pain, he recommended I get a second opionion. I appreciate his honesty, and his ability to know his limits. Turns out it is a neck issue, and I'm thankful that Dr. McMahon had the decency to know his limits, and refer me to another surgeon. Of all the surgeons I have seen, he is by far my favorite.
