Stay away from this place! Horrific wait times. Spent thousands and thousands of dollars on dental work for my son and it was my understanding that we were all paid up. At our next visit the billing person tells me I owe $200 from a previous visit that was over a year ago. They refused treatment unless I paid upfront. They never sent me a bill or mentioned anything about a past due bill at any of my sons visits and there were was one a month for a year. Dr Verwest bedside manner is probably one of the worst I have ever encountered and. I am a registered nurse so I’ve seen my share. All this place cares about is money. Not to mention that not one dental assistant have I ever witnessed sanitizing hands before putting gloves on! Huge infection control problem. I have made a switch to Barkley Pediatric dentistry and I absolutely love it there. Should have switched to them a long time ago. Never will I go back to Dr Verwest and team. Worst experience EVER! !!

This review is for the Naples office on Piper Boulevard. DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD TO THE TREATMENT ROOM ALONE. DO NOT SIGN A BLANK CONSENT FORM - DO NOT SIGN ANY FORMS UNTIL THEY SHOW YOU IN WRITING THE PROCEDURES THEY WISH TO DO ON YOUR CHILD.
When leaving after the cleaning today, I asked for a receipt for services and the document indicated they put Sealants on 6 of my teenager's teeth. THEY DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THIS OR ASK ME, AND DID NOT TELL MY DAUGHTER DURING THE PROCEDURE WHAT THEY WERE DOING. When I asked them about this, they had the nerve to lie and say they talked to me about it beforehand and I agreed to the procedures. The only thing I signed was a BLANK FORM OF CONSENT they gave me when I walked in. I expected them to come back with the form and show me what they added but THEY NEVER DID. In my opinion, they performed an unnecessary procedure and falsified information both verbally and in writing and with ill intent because they never took responsibility, acting as though they did me a favor. Scamming a patient is not a favor and applying sealants on 6 teeth of my child is not something you can undo - she's stuck with them and has to deal with this for the rest of her life.

FACT: The BPA chemicals in sealants put children at risk for diabetes, cancer and - most alarming -- accelerating the onset of puberty due to estrogen-like effects. The sealants can break just by your child chewing on ice or hard candy and many more items -- once broken (and unknowingly), bacteria will get in there and cause serious tooth decay -- worse than any decay that could happen by simply having a cavity. They must be replaced every few years. This information is hard to find, most dentists don't want you to know this and WON'T TELL YOU. Help your kid's out and only go to Dentists who allow you back with their child so you can make sure the services are being performed as you are expecting and ask lots of questions so you can make a decision about your child's teeth based on your opinion and philosophies.

For a pediatric dentist I'm surprised with his lack of patience with children! Used him for 5 years and never waited less than 45 in the waiting room after our appt time. He schedules too many people at once. Another big factor as to why I left this practice and switched to Main Street dentistry is there I'm allowed back with my children. For his own safety wouldn't you think he would be okay with that. It makes a child feel more comfortable and we're there to help calm them. He has children of his own so this surprises me. I was one of his first patients back in 90's and loved dr Verwest I seen him for 15 years, but he's changed he seems to be burnt out. My daughter was getting a cavity filled and was just grunting of coarse not doing anything abnormal and wasn't moving around he grabbed her chart and said yeah she was terrible last time to. He said to the assistant yeah book her with so and so and walked out. How unprofessional that was the last straw for me. Honestly I go back and tell her to listen and be good and sit still I go back to help them, and I wouldn't have gotten upset if she was moving around and not listening but all she was doing was making a grunting noise while he had a drill in her mouth at 6 years old! It was out of line for him to act like that. It used to be quality over quantity and now it's the opposite.

Dr. Verwest is truly the best. He called and checked up on my son on the weekend from his personal phone just to make sure he's doing alright and wanted to see if I had any questions.

Fantastic! We visited Dr. Verwest and staff this last week. The quality of service was exceptional. The video games and fun things inside really put the kids at ease.
