I have never dealt with such unprofessional and rude medical professionals. I have called Dr. Sacamay’s office several times trying to make a new patient appointment over the past 2 months and have dealt with negligence from the receptionist (Candace) and the office manager. I specifically switched to Dr. Sacamay due to the good reviews, but PLEASE do not come to this doctor. No health care workers should ever treat their patients like this.

I have Blue Shield health insurance and have called over the past 2 months trying to simply book a new patient appointment. I was told that they would have to verify my insurance and they would give me a phone call within 5-7 days to schedule my new patient appointment. I never received a phone call from the office. A month later I called to schedule another new patient appointment. The receptionist Candace told me I had given the office the wrong member ID number, so they could not verify my insurance. I gave Candace my member ID number a second time and again was told they would need to verify my insurance. I receive a phone call later that day from Candace saying they could not verify my insurance through the Blue Shield portal. When I asked Candace what I should do, she told me in a rude tone “There is nothing I can do to help you and clearly Dr. Sacamay is not your primary doctor”. I explained to her she is my primary doctor, but I received nothing but a rude tone and bad attitude. I simply asked if she needed Blue Shield to verify my information and again she told me, “I can’t help you”. When I asked Candace to speak to the office manager, she refused to let me speak to the manager.


At this time, when a health care provider can’t find verify a patient’s information it is the health care providers RESPONSIBLITY to contact the insurance and ask for verification by simply calling the provider line.

Even though it is Candace’s job to contact Blue Shield, I called Blue Shield immediately right after this phone call and explained the situation to the Blue Shield representative. The Blue Shield representative spoke to Candace and verified all my information and faxed over an eligibility form proving I was a member and Dr. Sacamay was my primary doctor. Candace apologized to the Blue Shield representative for the inconvenience and claimed I would be receiving a phone call by the end of the day to schedule my appointment. Three days later after receiving no phone call, I called again to schedule a new patient appointment and Candace yet again was helping other patients while on the phone with me. When I told Candace I wanted to make an appointment, she was rude yet again and put me on hold. Five minutes later she told me her office manager wanted to speak with me and was put on hold again. A few minutes later I was told by Candace the office manager is refusing to take me as a patient since they, yet again could not verify my information. This occurred again, EVEN THOUGH MY INSURANCE SPOKE WITH THEM PERSONALLY AND SENT THEM ALL THE NECESSARY PAPERWORK. When I asked to speak with the manager again, the manager refused to speak with me and Candace continued to give me attitude.

EVEN THOUGH MY INSURANCE VERIFIED MY INFORMATION, this office simply refused to take me as a patient for no reason. The eligibility forms my insurance sent was more than enough to prove that I was Dr. Sacamay’s patient and that Dr. Sacamay accepted my health insurance.

No Patient should ever be treated like this. I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism and negligence in my entire life. It is the responsibility of the health care provider and her employees to treat their patients with respect and to provide the best quality of care. Please do not come to Dr. Sacamay!
