My mother was in terrible pain with a stress fracture in her back. He refused to admit her to the hospital until finally my father called and didn't know what to do. HIs answer was to do whatever you want. She was admitted to the hospital and the doctor put her on psychotropic pain medicine. She was released to a rehab facility several days later but while there started have hallucinations due to the drugs. She was re-admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of psychosis. Unfortunately, Dr. Pathak did not put in the diagnosis that it was medically induced by her pain medication. He advised me she should go to rehab as my father did not have the skills to take care of her. Due to his diagnosis we have not been able to get her into a rehab. By omitting the words "medically induced" my mother is not considered a threat to herself and others which is absurd. As soon as the medications were stopped and the medicine was eliminated from her body she regained lucidity and remembered the hallucinations knowing they were not real. This doctor was careless in his diagnosis of this patient. He has caused my family considerable angst and grief.
