Back in the late 90s my ex husband and I were seeing her. At the time, I was "dealing" with depression, I was in and out of Canyon Ridge hospital & i was very suicidal. My husband was attemptingto beat the sadness out of me. He didn't show up to one of our sessions. I STUPIDLY, TIP TOED into the subject of the abuse. I didn't tell her much, but I was CLEARLY a battered woman. At our next session Dr Courtney told him everything I'd said. I was SHOCKED. I don't think he waited for us to pull out of the parking lot before he punched me. We never went back. He beat me for a couple more years before I got up enough courage to seek help again. I've always regretted not reporting her.

Though there is a SB Superior Court order for me to interact with my sons in a Grief and Loss/Reunification case, I have yet to experience any form of cooperation from Dr. Courtney who is their so-called "therapist." She is terse, disinterested in what I have to say and quite honestly, unprofessional whenever I have attempted to arrange a meeting with her, re: my 2 adolescent sons' well-being. I would not recommend this woman to anyone. Frankly, I am considering reporting her to proper authorities for her obviously (provable) shoddy counseling of my boys, as well as her ignorance toward me. It's a very disheartening set of circumstances she has created for me and the boys.

So far.. The best ever.. Never talks about herself.. Im amazed at her patience!.. While she alows me to talk endlessly.. She alway has good advice.. Even took the time to clip a newspaper article pertainly to someone like me!,.. I have no idea who the person above is talking about.. And boy. I have been through enough of them to know

She talks about herself a lot which wastes time. When a topic/personal problem is brought up she's not pro-active with a solution. Always talks about how we can solve a problem in the future trying to leave patients with a "warm and fuzzy" feeling. She will never refer another Dr. even if the issue/problem is over her head.

I hope she retires soon, she seems tired with her job and not interested in anything except herself. I rate this since she just talks about herself and when something is brought up it is dismissed.
