I am "happy" to see that I was not alone in my horrific experience with this alleged doctor, Melissa Palmer. She was always rude, critical (of things not even pertinent to my health), and the worst bedside manner I have every experienced. Happy to see that the practice is closed so that no one else has to endure this type of treatment. She was more concerned with her appearance and the type of car she drove than treating anyone...

Dr. Melissa Palmer was relentless in figuring out what was wrong with me. She is the one who (after many many months of tests) found my duodenal cancer. She was caring-enough to give me her cell phone number. She is a wonderful human being and as a doctor, I miss her.

I was a patient of dr palmer many years ago. Was sent for several test and was diagnosed with microscopic colitis. Every dr i tell this to states they have never heard of this. I carefully watched my diet lost weight. Ps 10 years later two children born at 27 weeks. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. Because of her lack of knowledge or care. My life was horrible. She never even tested for it. I had all the classic symptoms. After everything my children and family went through over the years. Shame on you as a doctor. I continue to write several letters to the AMA. She is just a stupid unknowledgable cant even call her a dr.

I am quite surprised that such a doctor of such stature is so uncaring of her patient.. Me. I have tried for over at l 1/2 years to get my medical records from her because she is not in practice anymore in Plainview NY. She totally has ignored my repeated calls letters requests certified mail . I do not understand how a doctor could be so cruel as to not help a long time time patient as myself who has failed the treatment she put me on for Hep-C .She screamed and repeatedly yelled on top of her lungs because I missed one appointment during that time of my year long treatment. She couldn't bear to have me get terribly sick in case I didn't show She said. But yet when I desperately need my medical records I am totally ignored.aside.I wanted to go on a new trial drug under another doctors care( she's not in business) and can't go on the trial drug due to her refusal to send my records. If anyone can help with info on getting my records please RSVP. It's illegal to not release my records

She was a phenomenal doctor and i am heartbroken that she has retired from practice. I found her to be kind, caring, and very easy to talk to. She took the time to explain the nature of my disease and reassured me when it was determined that i was not a good candidate for the treatment as it existed at the time. She loves abbysinian cats and that would have made her a winner in my book, but it was her vast knowledge and professionalism that kept me coming back.

She told me throughout my appointment to stop drinking although I told her REPEATEDLY that I didn't drink. She said my liver was in very bad shape and sacred me half to death. My mother went in for her appointment right after mine-she also scared my mother half to death. We're both fine after we saw other doctors. It would have been nice if she could've given either of us useful advice instead of just telling us how sick we both were (which we weren't AT ALL!) Office is packed with articles and book info. I don't mind all the self promotion if she were actually helpful. A very rude bedside manner in addition to her not listening to us at all and scaring us. Never calls back with results-makes you go there so she can scare you in person.

I have to say, that I do not know where any of the negative comments come from. I have been seeing Dr. Palmer for some time now and she and her staff has always been kind and professional. Dr. Palmer is a wonderful, dedicated, highly respected, doctor whose only concern is her patients and their well being. She has cured me of a life threatening liver disease that at times became unbearable with the type of meds needed to cure me but she was always available to me if I needed to see her or talk with her on the phone. I highly recommend her to anyone suffering with liver disease. Her office was very calming, relaxing and clean. It also had many informative articles around for me to read. It is comforting to know that right here on Long Island we have a world renound liver specialist who truly works miracles. Because of Dr. Palmer I have a future full of health and happiness.

Dr. Palmer is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I was diagnosed with auto hepatitis in 2007. I went to Dr. Palmer for a second opinion concerning the treatment I was receiving from another doctor at that time. She spent time with me, answered all my questions and has returned all calls I made to her office. If you have liver disease, she will give you the best care available. I am so thankful I found her. I believe she has definitely improved my quality of life.

Dr. Palmer is curt and to the point, but she is clearly a smart and intensely focused professional. She has never been rude, but isn't particularly chatty. She cuts to the chase and treats the patient. Any time I have called with a question or concern, she has called me back the same day. She welcomes questions and encourages frequent contact. Most importantly, she got me well when other doctors could not; she knew just what to do. If you have a liver disease, she is THE doctor to see.
