My 8 day old newborn baby nearly died from sepsis due to a UTI that Dr. Gough overlooked. The day after his first office visit, my son was admitted to the hospital and ended up in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and spent 3 weeks getting very strong antibiotics. The staff and doctors are rude and I am glad that I have transitioned to a new family doctor.

Dr. James Gough is unprofessional and when it comes ro my child he could care less on how I feel about certain thing. Everytime I have an appointment he ALWAY!! Have me waiy for an hour our even more. When we finally see him he leaves the room to speak to other patients which I feel is extremely rude. If I have a concern about something with my child he brushs me off and say oh your child is okay before I even finish what I was about to say. I would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO HIM

Dr. Gough truly cares and takes the time to listen to you and your concerns. He does not rush to prescribe medication and will explain everything to you. No guessing games here. He is the type of doctor who teaches his patients about where their symptoms come from and why the patient is feeling the way he/she does. He sends out letters about recent discoveries and what you should be doing to keep you and your family healthy and happy. He truly is an angel. He has been my doctor since I was born, I am almost 21 years old now and am really sad to have to leave him for a "grown-up" doctor. I trust Dr. Gough with my life.

At this point I am interested in just finding a pediatrician who will listen to what a parent observes. There are too many doctors who say things like "teething does not cause pain" that defy any and all experience. That said, he really is one of the more caring and thorough doctors we've encountered. We travel from Manhattan to see him. He's much more reasonable and thoughtful than most we've seen. I'd recommend him.

Extremely concerned, helpful although at times overbooked. Does NOT overprescribe antibiotics, and is on cutting edge of pediatrics. Excellent pediatrician, listens to patients, whole child sort of guy. HIs motto is the less meds the better...but when necessary he prescribes.
