Both times I’ve seen Regina, she has been dismissive. She called me to talk about a test result, and was rushing me and wouldn’t explain the reason behind my test results. I don’t recommend her.

If you are an older, heavier women, stay clear. My body type is heavy. I am in pretty good shape. Ride a bike 1,200 miles a year. Gym rat. Played hockey. Strong, broad shoulders. Hardly slim. Size 18 dungarees. Working class clothing. So no Vogue beauty but I am in better physical shape than most my age. Just got back from the ‘’One Women Ride’’ in Maine which is hilly and a bit of a challenge. So I’m no couch potato.

I have never been treated with such contempt by a professional in my entire, ever longer life. She fixated on my weight in a way that was designed to diminish me and blinding her to my medical history. To quote her precisely after I was concerned with a liver result (I have a blood disorder that can damage the liver) she said, “You’d be better off concentrating your energies on losing weight.” When I reminded her of my blood disorder she backed down a bit but I at that point, I was compelled to call her out on my several ugly encounters with her. I told her that forever reason, my literal body evoked contempt in her. And now we mutually agree I need a new doctor. (I’ve been with her three years after my 30 year doctor from DMA abruptly left the practice.)

This woman is not stupid. Nice memory. Comes into the examination room prepared. Bright. But my instinct says she became a doctor for the prestige and to elevate herself, diminishes what she might see as lesser patients. Be aware of that. Because she is obviously practiced at making you feel like you are a loser if you don’t see this for what it is.

If you’re of an economically higher status. Physically thin, yoga girl type body, bring designers pocketbooks into the examination room with you, this might not be your experience. And you could exploit her knowledge because I do think she is a capable doctor.

But if you’re not that. If you’re older. Wear tired clothing. Fatter. Stay clear. Her priority is status and that can blind her to your physical needs.

Dr. Wu has a global view of her patients, and in looking to provide them with the most appropriate expertise, can send patients to a number of specialists. At such times, she keeps in close contact to stay informed of her patients' condition. I have relocated 80 miles away and yet due to her wonderful professional care, I chose to retain her as my primary care physician. Our relationship is truly a partnership; she provides not only immediate address for office visit issue but inquires as to my personal well being and reviews total health issues such as diet, sleep, weight and habits. A physician can only be as successful as the patient is receptive to make personal changes and corrections as prescribed by the doctor. She is truly compassionate in her care.

It is obvious that she is very intelligent and kind; however she seems a little dismissive when I brought up an issue. A family member had the same feeling. That's why I gave a 2 for bed side manner.

Quick to send you to another doctor or to the ER. Always in a rush and seems like she doesnt have time for you or for a conversation.

Although I moved, I still drive to see Dr. Wu (a 40 minutes drive). She is kind, patient, knowledgeable, and smart. She takes complaints seriously and will refer to a specialist if she doesn't have the answer. I could not ask for a better primary care physician!
