Having received urological care and undergone BPH surgery 3 years before with another leading urological surgeon (name and hospital withheld), I'm in an excellent position to objectively compare and assess the relative merits of the treatment, testing, diagnosis, surgery and surgical aftercare I received from Dr. Stroumbakis and his team. Put succinctly, there's a reason Dr. Stroumbakis has a higher rating than any other urologist in the region on RateMDs.com. The reason he and his team get a 5-star-plus rating from me is based on every stage of a process that undoubtedly produces outstanding outcomes for a range of urological patients and conditions. Please continue reading the next paragraph if you want to know why Dr. Stroumbakis instills such trust in his superior experience and expertise from the very first appointment...or cut to the last paragraph to hear why I am joining other reviewers of Dr. Stroumbakis who are so happy with our results.

Dr. Stroumbakis and his expert, supportive and "client-oriented" staff chose and administered appropriate diagnostic tests that were smooth, efficient and effortless for me. (In contrast, my previous surgeon did only one basic test before recommending surgery.) At every stage, Dr. Stroumbakis explained the test results and recommended next steps in straightforward layman's language. He also invariably listened carefully and responsively to my questions. We tried medication before discussing surgery. Well before the appointment where he explained the pro and cons of surgery, I trusted him implicitly.

After 7 years of progressive urological challenges -- worsened in the last 3 by my ineffectual first BPH surgery -- I couldn't be happier with the surgical outcome achieved by the highly skilled and expert Dr. Stroumbakis. My score on the well-known 35-point International Prostate Symptom Symptom (IPSS) has gone from 34 to near zero [search "BPH Quiz" if you want to see where your symptoms stand from "Mild" to "Moderate" to "Severe"].

Went to a urologist before seeing Dr. Stroumbakis. Right away he wanted to do invasive surgery. After looking at various doctor ratings, Dr. Stroumbakis seemed to fit the bill. He had several options without doing surgery. He’s a doctor that likes a challenge & works with you in resolving your medical issue(s). He explains everything & answers questions in layman terms. Extremely happy to have decided to go to him & highly recommend him.

As a male who is in his 60's, I am another grateful and pleased patient of Dr. Stroumbakis, who performed a delicate procedure on me with skill and aplomb, with much success and good result.
His staff is tops, and his manner professional and empathic. I was diagnosed with a prostate cyst. I was given some bad outcomes for both sexual health and incontinence. That was very bad news for 55-year-old man. Dr. Stroumbakis advised me about an alternative procedure that was less invasive. It worked!!! After three years of urology hell and seeing 3 other doctors first. I thank god that I walked into Dr. Stroumbakis' practice. thank you so much, doc!!

Dr. Stroumbakis is a fabulous doctor -- very caring and very knowledgable. After being on oral med treatment for BPH for a year or so, he recommend a fairly new procedure called "rezum" as being the best path forward for effective treatment. He performed the procedure on me this past December, and I have been completely free of any prostate/BPH related symptoms. My life is back to normal and I am forever grateful to him.

My lifestyle was unacceptably disrupted by BPH. Dr Stroumbakis perfectly threaded the needle between treatment options to propose the one that was right for me. As performed by Dr Stroumbakis, I now see why the TURP has been considered the gold standard: VERY effective, with no complications or side effects. I cannot recommend Dr. Stroumbakis more highly.
