I went to Dr. Schultz because I was struggling with anger in a relationship, and I never felt I was making progress in more than a year. I would leave sessions feeling ashamed and defective, worse than before. Instead of recognizing my anger was coming from a legitimate source of frustration--the way I was being treated and undervalued by my significant other--I felt she piled on and agreed that everything was my fault. It took me a very long time to process this, and I just kept believing something was terribly wrong with me. She never once explored WHY I was experiencing so much anger toward my now-ex. After working with a practitioner who was far more insightful, it makes me feel sad now to know that I might have saved myself a lot of hardship and pain.
