I was recently referred to Dr M for excess ear wax removal. I found the staff and assistant as well as Dr M to be very polite and courteous. The whole procedure took about half an hour. Since then, I have no more ringing, itching, and squishing in my ears. I have anxiety but was made to feel reassured all would be okay. I would definitely recommend Dr M’s services.

I was referred from my urgent care physician to an emergency appointment with Dr. Mamikunian. He didn’t tell me what he was going to do prior to doing it (which was especially important because the ear he was touching was especially painful. I had and earring back stuck in my fresh piercing), he gave no warning or explanation even when asked and was far from gentle. He eventually determined that he would inject lidocaine into my ear an make an incision (which was unnecessary as urgent care explained to me) and “dig it out”. The way he wanted to do it was the way urgent care had just tried to and it was extremely painful and unsuccessful. I explained that we had tried this and that the reason I was referred here was to try nerve blockers and then remove the piercing. He said that he was the doctor and he knew what he was doing. I said I understand but that we had just tried this yesterday and he said that he doesn’t know what my other doctor did or what does he tried to numb it, but that he was the expert here, and knew what he was doing. I said that the information was on my referral and that this I why I was referred out to you, and that I didn’t want to put myself through that pain again in what already didn’t work. He said that I wasn’t the right doctor then and that I can find another doctor. That was the only thing we agreed on the during the whole visit.

Oh my goodness! I've never written a review before, but I've never had an experience like this! It started with an unexplained sharp sudden pain in my ear, that grew worse by the hour. I'd had ear infections before, but nothing that even comes close to this.

To make a long story short, I visited two different doctors and received two different diagnoses, with the pain continuing and getting worse. By Day Two it was unbearable and I could barely function.

I was then referred to the emergency department at the hospital but this was in the early days of COVID-19. When Dr Mamikunian was reached, he opened his closed practice just to see me on an emergency basis. After some initial questions to me, he simply asked, "Where are you located? can you get safely to my office at ----? I can be there in ten minutes. "

Within twenty minutes, I had an accurate diagnosis of an aggressively severe fungal infection in my right ear, which had eaten through my ear drum and entered my inner ear. I had lost my hearing and was worried about what life without it might mean.

Dr Mamikunian was amazing. This man tended to my situation, carefully irrigating and cleaning out the ear while I was still in agony. I would never wish a patient like me, as I was at that moment, on any medical professional. But Dr. M. was patient, calming, and a thorough professional.

He worked on my ear for what seemed like hours, enduring all of my wails. He would give me a break, and then we would start again. Through it all, he coached me and encouraged me to "hang in there." He later called me at home to check on my healing, and stayed in touch with regular visits until my ear had healed and my hearing had been fully restored several weeks later.

There might be much wrong with the world these days, but in my hour of great need I met an amazing and excellent physician who went far above and beyond to serve me and treat my condition. That speaks to his character, and I owe an immense gratitude to this compassionate and skilled man.

Character matters when you are about to trust your care, or that of your loved ones, to any physician. With Dr. Mamikunian, I witnessed a physician with compassion, great skill and solid character.

I am a professional who is very responsible with my finances. After an issue with a physical mailing address, Dr. Mamikunian's office failed to notify me through email or phone number (both of which they had on file) to let me know of a small outstanding balance. That balance was sent to collections, during which it increased over 30% of its original value. When I was notified by the collections agency that I had to resolve a bill with them, I called Dr. Mamikunian's office to ask what had happened. My calmly and respectfully delivered question was immediately met with extreme rudeness by their office manager, who was unwilling to speak with me further on the subject. I will never seek care from Dr. Mamikunian again, and would not recommend his services to anyone, due to this extreme rudeness coupled with the first (and unnecessary) experience with bill collections and subsequent negative mark on my credit score.

I would heartily recommend Dr. Mamikunian to anyone in search of a great ENT physician. I have been a patient of Dr. Mamikunian for many years and find him to be knowledgeable, compassionate and patient in explaining the complexities of his diagnosis as well as treatment options. He has performed two very successful surgeries on me, and in the process, restoring my sense of smell and my ability to breathe through my nose. His office staff is friendly, caring and efficient.
I find Dr. Mamikunian to be a great combination of sharp mind, good heart, good hands and a much needed sense of levity.

Having visited this doctor(by referral) once, I can say that is all I need to come to the conclusion that I will not be going back again. In my maybe 10 min appt he came off as arrogant, insensitive and quite short while I explained my symptoms. After that, he took out a dictaphone and began reiterating our conversation while I was sitting there waiting. How he cannot see that it is awkward and impersonal to a patient is beyond me. If he had misinterpreted any information, would I have been allowed to just interrupt his recording to make him aware?! It seemed to do nothing but take more time away from my appt to hear him repeat it all aloud when he had already been taking notes prior. Lastly the front office assistant is as unfriendly as he was and seem bothered if you ask anything.

This doctor has to be one of the worse doctor I have ever seen. He had poor bedside manner and was not very knowledgeable at all. I went to him because I had issues with my throat and he was more concerned about my ears which were fine. I had to go to another doctor for the right diagnosis and treatment. He is very cocky and rude. I can't believe he is a practicing ENT doctor!! Beware!!

Our then 16yr old son went in for node biopsy with great odds of being cancer. Dr. Mamikunian came out to greet us after performing the biopsy, shook my hand saying; "Congratulations...it's a BOY !" I was stunned and then asked if he thought it was cancer. "Yeah it's cancer, just hope it's Hodgkins Lymphoma." I was dumbfounded a medical doctor could be so caviler about saying such a thing to a frightened parent.
I gave him 3 stars because when Hodgkins was confirmed he looked at our son and said not to worry, he was to think of this as a bad "case of strep throat."
Well it was stage 3 Hodgkins and we needed to go to Seattle for 6 months. This was 2006, hopefully he has had more compassion over the years.

Dr. Mamikunian is the Best Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist I have ever had the privilege to see. I had years of sinus problems. In one visit he could see how miserable I was. He order X-rays an
d such. From them he could see the severity of my sinus problem. He performed 2 sinus surgeries (2002) on me and since those I have been extremely better. He is a Doctor that is direct and if your serious about being well and taking good care of yourself he is the doctor for you. If you don't take his advise seriously or not willing to take care of yourself then don't waste his time or yours.
