In discussing my medical history, I mentioned a previous doc telling me I would need a surgery, but who then decided I didn't. Being a layperson, I could not have a comprehension of why it turned out that way. When Dr. Christiansen asked me why I didn't have the surgery, I innocently said, "You tell me." I naively thought that since he was so easy to talk to, that he would take it the way it was intended, and answer in a civil or humorous manner. Instead, he used a contemptuous, hateful to the core, tone to say, "You tell me." I'm guessing that his personable way is actually his "way" of distantly getting through his workday.

Dr Christiansen is very personable but he spends way too much time getting to the point. Instead he sits and visits even if you have somewhere to be. As a result he causes people with later appointments to have to wait an hour or two past their appointments to get to see him. He is very knowledgeable about medicine but my time is valuable and I know other peoples' time is also valuable to them.

I have been seeing Dr. Christiansen for a few years now and I love him. When you sit down with him for first or annual checkups he gives you all the time you could ask for to remember questions or concerns. He is very funny and puts you at ease, even about uncomfortable or embarrassing issues. Of all the doctors I have seen in my life, he is my favorite.
