I see a lot of bad commits but this dr delivered my first born when I did not know what to expect out of the pregnancy. In the end he preformed an emergency delivery and saved mine & my daughters life. He had not been my doctor he was the doctor on call. But he did a wonderful job. Much better than the doctor the delivered my second in Traverse City & now I am pregnant with my third & he is doing a great job.

I'm in my mid 50's and only see Dr. Ritten for my annual, but I've been to 7 OB/GYN's over the years and he is truly one of the very best. Always thoughtful and kind, inquires about my (grown) children and efficient, up to date and interested in women's health and answers questions immediately. Now I don't have any real problems, but what some of these other women have written, I find hard to believe. I would say also that you should decide for yourself but be assured, if you want an MD (which is a real factor for me as I've been to DO's and have NOT been impressed) and a good one, and you live in the area, make an appointment, I think you will love this Doctor!

For the people who are honestly using this website to determine if Dr. Ritten is the right choice for them, please, ignore the negative posts and make an appointment and see for yourselves. The decision to choose a doctor should not be done over the internet. I would not doubt that the recent negative posts are from Lapeer Regional Hospital staff and administration as yet another stunt to destroy his reputation. He is now practicing at Hurley, a hospital that acts with maturity. I am a patient of his and have never had a negative encounter in my three years going to Dr. Ritten.

I think Dr. Ritten is a great doctor. Anytime I have a problem he takes care of it right away and allows me to come right in. If you have to call him at home or in the middle of the night he does'nt take it out on you he actually listens to you. He's very concern about your health when you go to see him and he listens to every word you say, just like a good doctor should. He has always answered my questions that I have had. I feel really safe in doctor Ritten's hands and would never go to any one else. He's a great doctor. I'm so glad he's with Hurley now.

I am pretty impressed with Dr. Ritten. He performed all the correct tests that were indicated (according to other reliable sources)for my condition. He's very friendly and personable. He took time to explain things to me and to answer all my questions. He is very knowledgeable and up to date on my condition as well. He is board certified. (I thought all drs were, but apparently they are not.) He has privileges at Hurley in Flint, and Hurley has an excellent reputation. I understand that is one way to tell if your dr. is reputable, by considering the hospital he is affiliated with. I was also told that if a dr. recommends a hysterectomy for my condition, to run!! Dr. Ritten says a hysterectomy is not indicated in my case. I don't know what else I can do or look into for more info. Dr. Ritten checks out 150% for me. He has my full confidence. P.S. He also delivered both of my grand-children.

Dr. Ritten has been my doctor for years. He has takin care of one of my pregnancy's and also my pregnancy now, I counldn't ask for a better doctor.

Dr Ritten did not have time for any of my questions. Granted it was my third baby but things were different this time. I asked him to send my records and he never did. I was very unhappy with my care. I will not go back!

I think that Dr. Ritten is a great doc, he has been very informative for anything that I have asked, anytime that I needed to get in there to see him he has gotten me right in without a problem. Dr. Ritten is one of the top OB/GYN doctors in this county. I would trust him with my life. I wish that all of you trouble makers would just leave him alone. Do not base your opinions on HEARSAY! He is a very good doctor.

I had only gone to Dr. Ritten 3 times and I was not satisfied with his care. Everytime I left his office Iwas in pain the whole day. I got a call from his nusre after my first visit saying I had abnormal pap results but she said not to worry. But I did. A week after I got the call I went in for a colposcopy test. Dr. Ritten said we would have the results in a week. I went in a week later to get my results. Dr. Ritten did not even remember doing the colp test and did not have the results like he said he would. I then waited in the exam room for 15 minutes for him to get the results. When he came in and read the results he told me I had Mild Dysplasia. When I asked him what Mild Dysplasis was he could not answer for 2 minutes. My opinion , when a patient asks a doctor what something is he should not have any hesitation , he should be able to give an answer right away. I ended up switching doctor's and had to wait up until I had 10 weeks left before my due date to get my file.

One of the best if not the best physician I have ever been to. Extremely personable and very knowlegeable and easy to understand. I have not met anyone who has ever said anything bad about Dr Ritten yet, in six years here.
