Dr. Tokcan does refer out and will not follow for problem after referral out, but maybe referring out is a good thing. Maybe she knows her limits. Given choices in Porterville, I would see her over any of the other internists. I think her knowledge is good. Can’t say just because she is from Turkey she doesn’t know medicine. She has been decent and tries to be helpful when I’ve been to her.

She went to medical school in Istanbul... and it shows. Terrible bedside manner and VERY uninformed/undereducated. Had to explain diagnoses to HER. But then again, no good doctors practice in Porterville, CA. It's where doctors (and patients) go to die, as they say. But yeah, for an INTERNIST, she's awful!!!

As stated, this doctor will refer you out to specialists rather than treat for problems. The other rater was also correct in stating that Porterville is limited as far as "good" doctors. I would have to travel over 40 miles to go to a different doctor, so I must depend on Dr. Tokcan even though I have very little faith in her capabilities to provide good care.

Dr. will normally see you one time. However, if you go back with the same complaint she will refer you to a specialist instead of trying to work it out.

Porterville is limited as to choice of doctors. Dr. Tokcan is a good choice in Porterville.
