Great Doctor who knows his stuff...compassionate and understanding

I personally knew Dr. Hackett for years and I can attest to the fact that he is not only EXTREMELY conscientious and concerned with his bedside manner but is amazingly thorough with his diagnoses spending the majority of his nights and weekends reviewing patient files and keeping up on the latest medical research. I can assure you there are not many doctors who spend the amount of time researching and re-researching to make sure they have it right. I am certain that he was doing just that, ensuring he had documented every aspect of the patients "ailments" and symptoms to make sure he had it so he could research and come back with a thorough diagnosis at the next appointment he requested. Technology enables better care but does come with tradeoffs - we all have to be patient as medical professionals perfect the balance between documentation,assessment and care. Dr. Hackett is truly a cut above.

I am a nurse, I have worked with many many doctors and I must say that Dr. Mike is very patient, gentle and conscientious with his practice. He has been my Dr. for 23 years! I know a negative comment was made here but I would bet that person has some sensitivity issues and that they perceived Dr. Hackett to be rude when he was actually just working and thinking through what they were saying. When Dr. Mike's practice was in Mentor he would come in the middle of the night for emergency issues and would always fit myself and my family in when we were sick. He has never misdiagnosed anyone I know and has always taken the time to thoroughly explain medicines, diagnoses, how to care for ourselves and any answers to other questions. If you want to see Dr. Mike you may need to wait a little while because so many people like him, but if you want and can wait for a great Dr. then seeing him is worth it.

He is so rude. If he would spend more time actually listening to his patient rather than mumbling to himself and typing away at the computer, then I would go back and see him. I will be seeing someone else thanks to his rudeness. Newsflash Dr. Hackett YOU are there to listen to my ailment(s), if I am there for a particular reason, I have the RIGHT to be heard, do NOT tell me to make ANOTHER appointment because you wasted the whole appointment typing at your station. I think it is time for you to retire and stop dropping the ball on your patients.

He sometimes misses diagnosis and won't ask opinions if he is not sure.

Dr. Hackett always akes time to listen to any questions you might have and is always open to listen if you have issues with a medicine he may have put you on

Mike has been my doctor for the past 15 years before becoming part of the Clinic and know with the Cleveland Clinic. While I like Mike, the Clinic can be a big negative when trying to see a physican in a timely manner.

This physician went above and beyond his call of duty by returning phone calls directly to me in order to ensure I had correct information in regard to taking certain perscriptions while pregnant. I would recommend this physician to anyone.
