He is arrogant, doesn't listen and rushed into irreversible decisions. Avoid this Doctor.

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease and opted for RAI therapy. Dr. Antunes had to administer it twice before it was successful. He started me on 25mg of Synthroid, increasing by 25mg. I visited his office every 6 weeks complaining of body aches, excessive weight gain, hair loss, sleepiness (all classic sx of hypothyroidism), he refused to increase the dosage to alleviate these sx. I went to my family physician she view my labs and increased my dosage immediately and all the above symptoms started to subside within days. It is apparent that he is reckless because I told him that I am a nurse, just imagine what he does to is patients that doesn't question treatment. He is only concerned about the money. If you are in Sarasota area Dr. Lupo is the best!

The staff greeted and processed me efficient. Normal wait time to get to room. Spoke with PA at length she was patient and informed. Dr was brief, direct and well informed. Making a appointment for my husband!

A doctors doctor. Dr. Antunes saved my life. Yes, his front staff is poorly suited for patient interaction, but his back office is outstanding. I could care less if my doctor likes me, so long as he makes the right medical decisions. Trust Dr. Antunes to save you when you need savings.

Dr Atunes is not a people person and I had to remind him on my 3rd visit what transpired on the second otherwise I would have missed some vital follow up testing. He does not have a lot of patience.

I went to see if I had a thyroid problem which I didn't after blood tests. I did however have a low vitamin D level and was on a high prescription of Vitamin D for 10 weeks. I was so amazed by the end of each week my depression, body aches and pains and brain fog started going away!! I felt fantastic! Unlike one of the other comments about vitamin D, Dr Atunes discovered my ills that had effected me for a very long time. I found the Staff pleasant.
