Dr. Shaffer is caring and knowledgeable. Best doctor ever.

Hi everyone i would like to start out saying that dr jonathon was my doctor for many years and at first i really thought he was the best dr in the sugarland area. I was in a car accident in 2000 and he treated me for it .may i also add he put me on some strong pain killers for a while and never once told me that they were addictive . I called his office to tell them that when i didn't take the medicine he gave me i felt very sick . To make a long story short i got a certified letter in the mail a couple days later saying due to recent issues you have had with my office i wish to terminating our doctor patient relationship . I could not believe a doctor who i had gone to sine my childhood did that to me . He was scared because he got me addicted to the pain medicine and he thought he would get in trouble i guess ! It really hurt me that my own doctor would be so shallow ! I had never even heard of or taken a pain pill before he gave them to me !

I have been a patient for 14 years and would trust Dr. Shaffer with all my medical care. He runs late but thats because he spends time with you to listen to your concerns. I think he is great. Thanks Dr. Shaffer for such wonderful treatment.D.L.

I have been a patient since 1992 and he has never let me down. He listens and takes his time with you if you need him to. His staff is always nice and professional. I am very happy that when i move to Houston, he is the Dr. I saw first and ever since. He has always been concerned about my health and,he has always done the best to get me well quick. Dr Shaffer has been my Dr for the past 15 years. He is absolutely wonderful. His bedside manner is great and he listens attentively to my concerns and always addresses them. I couldn't ask for a better doctor! I have NEVER had a problem getting an appointment...EVER

I've been several times and found him personable. For example, when treating me for depression, he didn't just write a prescription and leave it at that. He asked about my children and my general well-being, stress levels, and relationships. He gave both medication as well as recommending holistic remedies and therapists. The office staff was efficient. When making an appointment on the phone, I was directed to his assistant to answer my questions so as to be more prepared for the appointment (I needed to know if the blood tests I desired were fasting tests.) He tends to ramble a bit, and he tends to be late, but not more than other offices I have visited. Once I was accustomed to his particular personality, which took only a couple of visits, I felt comfortable and well cared for. Dr. Shaffer also continually attends educational programs and remains certified in certain fields each year in order to be aware of and proficient in current medical information.

Very straight-forward and sometimes rude, esp. if you don't understand exactly what he is talking about. You wait an hour to be seen, and he is in/out in a hurry, no time to help with other problems or be personable. And this is my 4th visit like this...
