I feel bad for Dr. Lapenna because he is a good doctor and nice guy but his staff is the worst! I can't emphasize this enough, so again THE WORST! If you like to be treated like crap by the MISERABLE, OLD and CRABBY receptionists then this is the place for you. If you like to spend 2 to 3 hours in a waiting room listening to the MISERABLE, OLD receptionists then this place is for you.If you like to see drug rep after drug rep meet with Dr. Lapenna before he sees the patients waiting for hours, this place is for you.No respect given to the patients. Me and my family will be finding someone new. They'll be moving empty handed because I hear complaint after complaint from everyone I know that sees him.But like I said, he is a good doctor so unless things change dramatically me and mine are gone.

I have been going to Dr LaPenna for quite a few years now, and noticed a number of changes over that time. While patient care appeared to be top priority at first, now it seems to be more of a patient mill. It's always crowded, which means LONG wait times. Once you've been admitted, there's more waiting as the doc is dealing with other patients. The manager who runs the office (his wife?) is not really a people person. If you want copies of your own medical records, they might give you a hard time, or just ignore your request, depending on which documents you requested (assuming you're not overcharged for the copies - NYS has a per-page price cap which they seem to ignore, based on what they charged me). It would also be nice if they weren't so aggressive pushing those overpriced omega-3 supplements (once using a "nutritionist"). On the plus side, Dr LaPenna appears to be knowledgeable and does care about his patients, and his evidence-based approach to care is a big plus in my book.

Horrible, horrible... the staff is even worse, no compassion, nasty, and the head nurse Doreen is the most nasty. The wait is 1 hour in waiting room, and another hour in the exaime room... Being a patient for 12 years, I find it hard to believe they this doctor or staff can flex... to get a receipt they told me to mail them a stamped envelop because I work too late to make it to the office... horrible, not acceptable as a health care provider... if it was an emergency... I would be up the ceek without a paddle! The office use to charge $1 to pick up your perscription, that stopped, probably illegel!

The wait is now outrageous 2-3 hours) and the staff, including his wife, are rude. They need to learn how to behave in a professional manner. I waited over one month to get the results of my blood test. Patients are customers.

Firat to make an appointment you get a nasty person, that basically doesn't ever want you to go there. Then you deal with his B**CH wife who is totally ruining his office, even talks to the girls who work there like they are lower than them. Then when you get in the room and deal with the nasty whatever that person is (NOT A NURSE) some girl who knows how to take a temperature thats it. Then when you see him 3-4 hrs later, he rushes you - and its annoying.. Beware of his WIFE (BLONDE HAIR LADY- KNOWS EVERYTHING).

The staff is unbelievable. The wife is the manager and she is just a rude POS. What an attitude. The Doc is a good practitioner who is made to look bad by his staff. Single practitioner that is struggling to hold on. Hopefully he wakes up one day and fires his WIFE and gets a real manager who realizes that he is dealing with people not dollars. I have been seeing him from the mid 90's and I still trust and respect him. He is a good Doctor that gets a bad name because his wife thinks she knows how to run a medical practice. Bobby! Send her home and fire the staff and start all over. Thats all you need brother.

This doctor is the most unprofessional medical specialist I have ever seen. After waiting 3 hours in the office for an appointment I showed up 15 minutes early for, he sent me for a blood test at Quest, which provided him (I confirmed) the results in 2 days. Its been over a month and the doctor still hasn't 'reviewed' the report nor contacted me with any results. Upon calling for a copy of the report/test results, they refused to give me a copy. But already charged my insurance firm, not only for the initial visit but also for a 'consultation' which was never performed. I called the office on 9 (NINE) separate occasions to request my results and on each occasion I was told the doctor was not in and will call me back (which he never did). I WILL NEVER EVER EVER go to this quack again. He is an embarrassment to the medical profession

This doctor got too big to have his practice alone. His wife who is a rude and obnoxious person believes in argueing with you if you God Forbid call on a weekend. You will never get through to him, she was so arrogant that we are leaving him. My father has cancer and she gave me trouble getting his records forwarded to Sloan and didn't have a human emotion in her body. This made my father feel even worse. He was "comfortable" with his doctor listening to his new found cancer and they wouldn't even put him through to speak to the doctor. How dare they!!

I really wish I had something nice to say about this Doctor...He's rude, arrogant and down right mean....I had plenty of SERIOUS red flags regarding my health, which were over looked as well as snubbed off....He does not answer questions well nor does he return phone calls...The staff at his office are very unprofessional ...I do not recommend this Doctor at all.....

I have been a patient of Dr. Lapenna's for a long time and I find that he is caring, understanding, takes my concerns seriously and follows up. Sometimes there is a long wait in the office but it is worth it. Highly recommend him to any one seeking a good general practitioner.
