This is good doctor. I know doctor with 5 stars called Dr William Ziegler who hire anti-review lawyer to clean his all negative comments. But dr. Merker is so honest that he respect to an opinion of every patient. I highly recommend DR. Merker.

I wish I had seen this page before being referred to this office. I too have the same complaints as below. I have literally been waiting over a month for test results. I called the office everyday for 3 weeks and never ever received a call from the dr. They just told me to come in for my 6 week follow up. I have been waiting 6 weeks ! The wait in the office is unbelievable, never less than an hour and a half. I'm actually dreading going . The Dr. takes personal calls during your visit as well. If this wasn't my 4th endo I would have looked for another but I am getting exhausted so I guess I will settle for this one for now.

After seeing Dr.Merker for 3 years,I got tired of not being heard. He was treating me for diabetes & immediately put me on insulin. When I asked about perhaps trying to change my meds (I was on a low dose & fully controlled)he wouldn't even listen.I finally left, went to a new doctor who of course ran new bloods. She is weaning nag me off insulin successfully,Down to 1/3 the dose with better numbers are n 2 months. She also found my bad cholesterol & triglycerides were a bit high but it n checking Dr.Merkers records found that they were far worse when he was seeing me. He had NEVER TOLD ME that anything other than being diabetic was an issue. He only gave me my A1C results.Unbelievably incompetent. BEWARE,STAY AWAY.Find a Dr.that looks at the whole picture & keeps you informed.

I have never seen such an unprofessional office, no one calls you to tell you that your appointment has been canceled, the staff is so unprofessional, they have such an "I don't really care attitude" with you. This was my second visit and if it was not that I need to see this doctor, I would never return to this office. I have been treated better at The Animal Medical Center when I take my cat for a visit. If you can't deal with the public this staff should not be in this line of work,

I arrived for my appt with Dr Merker, the woman at the desk tells me in a no care attitude, well Dr Merker took the week off, I said why didn't you call me, I live in New Jersey it's not that easy for me to get here, she I called you yesterday and left you a message, I told her that's not true, I was home all day yesterday because of the humid weather, so you never called or left a message, you could at least he truthful, so cut me off and

I waited two hours for the first appointment and two hours for the second. When Dr. Merker took a patient who had an appointment after mine--and this after I waited two hours--that was the last straw. I asked the receptionist to confirm whether that person had an appointment after mine, and she said "yes." I said this was not right: she said nothing like "let me ask him about this" or please have a seat." I left. While some complain that their doctors do not take enough time with them, I believe that Dr. Merker takes too much time, perhaps because (as some have said on this forum) he takes personal phone calls while patients are in his office.

staff is unfriendly and rude. I called several times to get results of my thyroid biopsy and the staff said i was on a list for the doctor to call, i was ok with that. after three weeks i called again and they said i was still on this list, i asked how long was this list and they said he will get back to me soon. after 4 1/2 weeks i called back and the receptionist said " oh he hasnt called you? i will let him know you called" after 7 weeks i receive a bill, i didnt pay it i sent a wriiten letter with the bill saying to please tell me what my results are and than i shall pay this. the next day The dr leaves me a message that my results were not good, i needed another biopsy and possible surgery. I dont think the dr is bad, but his staff is terrible in giving this man results and messages. I went for a second opinion and got my results in the same day.

Same exact problem as everyone else on this forum. First appointment was kept waiting for over two hours. Could not get the office to call me back after repeated requests for my bloodwork. I kept asking if the doctor could call me back to discuss my bloodwork and he never did. Scheduled a follow up for first appointment of the day, marked it on my phone calendar. Waited weeks to be able to take the first appointment. When I arrived I was told my appointment was on a different day. Most definitely their error not mine as I never would have scheduled the day they claimed I booked. Kept waiting anyway, begged to see doctor for five minutes as it was a completely routine follow up. Refused. I can't go back- he was a very friendly doctor ( although he did take personal calls during my first appointment). He seems knowledgable but he needs to fire his entire office staff. My other doctors use online portals where I can see my lab work online, email them and get a response in 24 hours
