Horrible all around experience from staff to Dr. Chlpka. Meanest, nastiest Dr. I have ever met. The only good reviews you will see must come from his family members. Find another practice.

Nobody ever answers the phone. The machine asks you to leave a message, then you just cross your fingers that they’ll eventually call you back. Don’t hold your breath. This is annoying when you’re trying to make a routine checkup, but it’s beyond infuriating when you have a potentially serious issue with your child and can’t get anyone on the phone. Which is exactly what I went through yesterday.

My child woke up with a bad rash. Naturally, we immediately called the Dr. Chlpka’s office. Of course, we have to leave a message. An hour goes by. Two hours. Nothing. So I start calling repeatedly. Maybe ten times, with no answer. I leave another message. Nothing.

Instead of pressing 1, as it instructed me to, I pressed 3, which took me to an operator. I told the operator my situation, and she said there were no nurses available, but she’d put a note on their desk with my name and number on it and they’ll call me ASAP.

An hour later, after still not receiving a call, I start calling back, and I get to the operator again. By this time my concern for my child has grown, as has my frustration for this office’s unresponsive carelessness. I express my frustration to the operator and explain that I’ll be finding a new doctor for my family, and just like that, all of a sudden a nurse becomes available immediately transferred to a male nurse. I explain my concern for my child and he gives me a phone number and tell me to text photos of my child’s rash to it and they’ll (you guessed it) call me back.

So I send them photos and an hour or so later, some lady calls back and says they don’t know what it but they’ll call in a prescription lotion to be picked up soon. I told them that I’d pick up the prescription and I’d never return to their office again because the way that they conduct business is unacceptable. The lady responded with “Okay well I don’t know what you want me to do for you. If there aren’t any nurses available, then there’s nobody to answer the phone.”

So I wait a few hours, take a trip to the pharmacy to get the medication, and the pharmacist reports that nobody from Dr. Chplka’s office has called in a prescription.

Needless to say, never again. The hunt for a new doctor’s office has begun. Do yourself and your children’s wellbeing a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARELESS, UNRESPONSIVE, NEGLIGENT office.

The fact that nobody answers the phone is completely unacceptable in any business, especially a doctor’s office. The fact that they said they were going to call in a prescription and didn’t means one of two things. Either she forgot to, which is unacceptable. Or, she purposefully didn’t call it in after I expressed my dissatisfaction, which is beyond unacceptable. I will forever make sure that I send everyone I can away from Dr. Chlpka’s office.

Also, of the dozen or so times having to go to the office, not once have I seen Dr. Chlpka there, which I find very odd. The old pediatrician (before I moved here) was present at every single appointment. And not once did a phone call go unanswered. Dr. Chlpka’s office appears to have no standards.

All of the doctors at Helping Hands Pediatrics are excellent, compassionate people. Vaccination is a social responsibility. They educate their patients about risks of refusing vaccines. It is NOT trickery...it is an ethical obligation.

Dr Chlpka is very unethical!! If you go to him and you choose to not get any vaccines be advised HE WILL TRICK YOU AND GIVE THEM ANYWAYS!!! Do not trust this office!! They will treat you like garbage, call you names, bully you and then assault your child with vaccines you didn't want. Be warned!!

Love this office! The previous post sounds like they may have had a bad day at work or something! Just visit the office and you will see how it really works. Anyone reading mean, defaming posts would never give any merit to them anyway.

Dr. Chlpka is one of the most self-centered arrogant doctors I have ever met. He is more interested in watching his own back over the actual interests of his patients. If it suits him - he lies, will withold treatments, and argue with you about what is best for your own child. He care about himself and nothing more. Hope you feel like waiting a long time too - loads them in each day just to make as much money as possible. Absolute jerk.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this office. I don't normally write on these rating systems but after reading the poor review from the last person I had to give my opinion. The staff has been nothing but fantastic. I like all three doctors. They take their time to explain everything and don't treat me like I am 'just a mom." I have 2 children and I am always able to get an appointment. I have recommended them to everyone. My whole neighborhood practically uses them and they love them too!

I took my 12 year old to Dr.Chlpka's office last year.I will never ever go back there again. The Dr.they kept giving me was horrible and rude. She mis-diagnosed my daughter twice. And she was some what irritated when I refused to let her give my 12 year old the gardasil shot. She never paid attention when I tried to tell my daughters symptoms. she just kept telling me "it's just a cold." Then she would look at me like I was some kind of goofy over protective mom. My daughter had a bad sore throat with white dots on it that lasted 2 weeks, and a low fever, a terrible stomach ache, a headache, and her right side hurt. I finally demanded that she check her over more thoroughly. It turned out my daughter had a virus that had been going around. (tons of kids had it, but that Dr. never told me this.)I switched Dr.s and they actually sent her med. records to the wrong Dr.! Their office is very disorganized and incompitant. I you take your kid there, all I can say is...good luck!

Dr. Chlpka and his staff are always helpful and courteous, kind and cheerful. It is a pleasure going to his office and I can't imagine my kids going to any other pediatrician. They adore him, and his staff.
